Quality Inn & Suites Thunder Bay Downtown

I liked the room, it was small but adequate for one person. I liked that it was pet friendly and did not have carpeted floors. I also liked the colour/decor of the room.

I had to wait over 30 mins for someone to check me in upon arrival. The cleaning staff had to track someone down. There was concern for safety with the intoxicated people in the area coming into the hotel. There was construction ongoing in the hotel until 9 pm hammering and drilling - we had to ask them to stop more than once. The exits were obstructed with furniture and there was drywall dust throughout the hotel.

Renovations being done and stuff everywhere. Furniture left in corridor, room doors left wide open without being cleaned. New separate curtains put in a double window which left a wide gap for the light to get through. Very expensive for what it was

I recently stayed at Quality Inn & Suites Thunder Bay Downtown and overall had a fairly good experience, especially considering the ongoing renovations at the property. From the moment I arrived, the staff were welcoming, friendly, and professional. They made the check-in process smooth and were always available to assist with any questions. It’s clear the team is doing their best to maintain a high level of service even while improvements are being made to the hotel. The room itself was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The bed and pillows were particularly comfortable, which made for a good night’s rest. The updated design gives the room a more modern feel, and the amenities provided were adequate for a short stay. Parking was generally easy, although guests with mobility concerns may find the limited accessible spots a bit challenging. This is something that could be improved to better accommodate all guests. Breakfast had a decent selection, but during peak times, some items like eggs and coffee needed to be replenished more quickly. With a bit more attention to timing and restocking, the breakfast experience could be significantly improved. The location is convenient, being right downtown, which makes it easy to access nearby businesses and restaurants. However, like many downtown areas, it can feel a bit busy and less quiet at times. Overall, despite a few minor issues, I had a comfortable stay. The strong customer service, clean rooms, and ongoing renovations show that the property is moving in a positive direction. With a few operational improvements, this hotel has great potential to provide an even better guest experience. I would consider staying here again in the future.

The staff were great. Kind, welcoming and friendly. They were under renovations which is no fault of their own.

The area made me feel unsafe as a single person traveller. There was next to no parking. There was hair on the sink/shower. Area was quite loud and I felt anxious.

Staff were very accommodating, friendly and approachable. Breakfast items quality and quantity were great to say the least.

The lack of accessibility for a disabled person to access the front lobby, due to the stairs. There is access to the ground floor/rooms however you're unable the elevator only grants access to rooms not the lobby.
