So, we trusted the “stars” of Intercontinental to deliver us a breakfast buffet that would amaze us. Spoiler alert: the only thing that amazed us was how fast K1950 could disappear from our wallets. Let’s talk about this so-called “buffet.” A few pastries, three types of charcuteries, cheese cubes (yes, cubes, not even slices of dignity), a couple of cooked vegetables, and three types of bread that were giving strong “yesterday’s breadbasket” vibes. Want sausages or eggs? Oh, you’ll need to order them so they can be prepared in the back. Because apparently, here, the buffet is just a menu preview. For a hotel that claims 5 stars? The only thing shining was the light reflecting off the empty chafing dishes. The atmosphere? Bland. The food? Tasteless. The value? Nonexistent. For three people, breakfast at K1950 felt more like a robbery in broad daylight—with croissants as the weapon. If you’re in Lusaka hunting for a proper breakfast buffet, literally anywhere else will do better. Unless you enjoy paying top dollar for a bread-and-cheese sampler plate, I don’t recommend.

The welcome was most warm with fruit bowl and nuts (peanuts, cashews)/ dates were there on arrival. Staff were courteous and even remembered me by name some time later.

The staff are the best ever. Made our stay perfect right from the start. The front desk even called to ask how we had settled in later in the day after checking in. The location was central and easy to get to. The breakfast was amazing and all so fresh. We would definitely stay again.

The owner/manager was very disrespectful and rude. Not seeking to resolve matters but to advance blame and threats when no refusal of accountability was given. Very poor customer service and lack of maturity in resolving problems. A peaceful conversation would have been preferred. Just a conversation in fact, however, he was making, side comments, threats, and only wanted to speak to his staff members without hearing from the guests at all and from the onset. Very poor management skills.

Best hotel to stay in Lusaka. Excellent service and cordial staff. Rooms are clean and have a calm ambience. Highly recommended to stay whether its business or pleasure trip
