Denver Marriott West

Very nice

The property is very dated and Marriott has not spent a dime on it in years. Nobody is paying attention to details. I tried using the house phone from the pool to call the lobby and you get a recording! The bar draft beer was out of service, ok, how about a Stella? Oh we're out of that. How about a such and such? We're out of that. Blah blah blah. Very sloppy overall operation. Nobody is running the place.

Expensive and dated, not worth the price. Outside of the lobby, the hotel is showing its age. Everything was very clean but the ameneties were basic at best. I booked a patio room and was hoping for something with lots of light. In reality the light was completely blocked by a huge conifer directly outside. Not a huge issue but also not what you would expect. Bathroom was clean if basic with a shower diverter that looked like it would have been at home in the 80s. There was a bottle of water in the room with a $5 price tag on it. I would have expected at least one bottle given the price of the room so i just refilled my own bottle at the fountain. I was comfortable but disappointed.

Rooms were clean and service was great. Rooms definitely need some updating .

Sadly, this hotel no longer seems like a Marriott. It needs a major overhaul. My room, room 535 has a cracked light sconce, both beds feel like marshmallows, one bed has the top mattress unable to stay squarely on the box spring, the shower drain is so clogged that it fills up to your ankles while showering, the chair is so sunken that you’re almost on the floor sitting in it. And the carpeting in the room is just gross. I’ve stayed in this particular property many times in the past 15 years because of its great location, but until they renovate, this is my last time. And when I checked in they announced that now they will be charging $7/day per car. But that fee was not shown when I booked in June. The person that checked me in said, yes, we’re sorry about that. I did get that fee eventually waived though by a different employee. Everyone that I encountered working there was extremely nice and it’s too bad that the hotel itself appears so shabby.

Service and staff were great. Room was nothing remotely close to a $500+ a night room I’ve stayed. Broken faucet, Broken bench. 2 star room at best.

You don’t fly halfway around the world dreaming of a Marriott off the highway in Denver. But business is business, and sometimes you sleep where the calendar says you should. The Denver Marriott West doesn’t pretend to be more than it is. The staff are friendly and quick with what you need, no fuss, no fake smiles. There’s a bar to take the edge off the day, a pool and gym if you’re feeling righteous, a restaurant if you can’t be bothered to wander. The room’s big enough to spread out your mess. Good light, Wi-Fi that works, a proper desk for pretending you’ll clear your inbox. The décor hasn’t changed since Bill Clinton was in office, but it’s clean and functional. The old-school thermostat does its own thing, but at least you can crack a window and let in a bit of Colorado air to remind you you’re not sealed in entirely. Step outside and there’s a clutch of restaurants within walking distance, decent enough to keep you fed without needing to call a cab. Best part? South Table Mountain Park is right across the road, wide open hills, deer picking their way through the grass, birds everywhere. It’s a good reminder you’re in Colorado, not just another beige boardroom. It won’t make your highlight reel, but you’ll sleep fine, get your work done, and maybe catch a sunrise over the hills. Sometimes that’s all the adventure you need.

Location, staff was very friendly

The pool are was very nice. The breakfast was very overpriced and was not very good. Typically a breakfast like that is included in the room price.
