"End of season visit"

8.0

We visited at the end of the tourist season and the hotel was quiet. The room was clean thanks to Lamin B.K Fofana and the swim up pool was given attention every morning the breakfast was good and there were sufficient options changing money at the hotel was easy. We used the same taxi driver every day and that really helped to see surrounding areas and explore restaura

"A great place!"

Fabulous - will definitely be back.

An undercooked chicken lunch on our last day could have seriously poisoned us!

"Very enjoyable trip!"

10.0

Had a very enjoyable stay, previously stayed at the Senegambia hotel but much preferred this hotel was smaller & a lot more quiet. The staff were very friendly & helpful. Our room was in block 1 which I would recommend especially if you want a swim up room as it gets the sun all day & was kept extremely clean thanks to our excellent room cleaner. The breakfast was very enjoyable a good choice always available & live egg cooking station for omelettes etc. It was never a problem getting a sun bed on the beach or round the pool & the beach guys were very friendly. There were some beach sellers but if you said no they didn’t bother you. We were only bed & breakfast & there were some restaurants close to the hotel. We ate at Solomon’s next door which was good but 2 others we tried I would not recommend. It is best to eat at the strip as there are numerous restaurants & bars all types of food. I would recommend Scala we ate there last time we came & it is still as good. You will need to book ad it is very popular & gets fully booked. There are green taxis outside the hotel & it only costs £3 to the strip. Ask for Arti he will look after you, he’s on WhatsApp so can just call him when you want picking up. Would definitely recommend this hotel if you are planning a trip here & if we return will definitely stay here again!

"Niet gek!!!👌"

7.0

Zwembad aan eigen balkon is geweldig, als je natuurlijk van zwemmen houd🤣

Hadden in de nacht erg last van de pomp van het zwembad, duurde even voordat opgelost was , kregen er ook geen feedback over van hotel. Zodoende slechte nacht gehad. Twee keer dinner genoten, eerste maal 8.0, tweede keer helaas een 6-. Ontbijt was echt super. 👌 Aanrader voor iedereen, krijg je kamer 501, even een andere vragen, heb je goede nacht en super verblijf hier!!

"Fabulous place - we really enjoyed our stay!"

9.0

A wonderful hotel with lovely and helpful staff. Great rooms, fabulous swim up terrace, by the sea, and an amazing breakfast.

An undercooked (ie totally uncooked!) chicken on our last lunch was rather worrying and disappointing. It was well dealt with by the waiter and his manager, and there were many apologies, but still, it shouldn’t have happened. The excuse was that it was a mistake by the trainee - surely the point of having a trainee is that they are there to learn, and therefore it is a point of whomever was supervising them!

"Friendly Gambian Experience"

8.0

The hotel was amazing and you can’t fault the staff at all- very hard working and friendly. The rooms were excellent and clean, thank you Lemen (house keeping block two). They always had time to chat and still make the rooms and hotel so clean and comfortable. The arrival staff and reception were very informative and honest about safety and local advice. The gym was very good for a hotel gym. The grounds were clean and pleasant. Bar and restaurant was shaded well with fans. Breakfast had an excellent selection and good quality. The security was very good. The swim up pools were lovely and the pool staff were attentive to keep them clean and hygienic, with no pool closing time. The room service was no more expensive than the bar so it didn’t feel like a compromise- excellent to make full use of the swim up pools. The hotel was quiet and peaceful- no music but some in the evening. A bit of atmosphere music could’ve been nice if you’re being picky. Overall the hotel was a lovely, sunny and peaceful place to relax. The beach and area was nice to have access to, however a very intense hassling culture around. As two white women that came alone, we had to be very firm. Men acted as personal security ‘to keep us safe walking alone’, sang music to us (not asked for) and demanded money as tourists. Good bars and restaurants around and in the strip- the African Queen and Solomon’s were lovely! The fruit ladies on the beach had lovely fruit, a must to have in your mini fridge!! And we would recommend “Tony the lion king” as a local taxi driver, very trusting and helpful for tourists. Otherwise, the hotel again was very good at wanting you to feel safe. However, it would be nice to have had an area on the beach that is trader free, maybe closed off sunbeds. It stopped us from using the beach as much.
