Omni Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa

The pool and spa are very nice. Great atmosphere for families. It waa quiet at night but we were separated from another family by a door. We could hear them loudly during the day. I was disappointed with the smell in the room and the filthy carpet. I didn't even want to walk on it with my socks on it was that bad. Very old for these prices. The carpet needs to be replaced in 2810. There is no microwave in the room but there is a refrigerator.

Every year we stay in Palm Springs for 2 nights before or after Xmas on a road trip from CA to AZ. After staying at the JW for many years, for the last 2 years we’ve stayed at the Omni because it’s so family friendly. The pools, lazy river, and overall layout make it a great destination for families with kids, and the staff is warm and welcoming. It’s clear the resort is designed with families in mind, and our kids always have an amazing time. However, we did experience a serious and concerning issue related to food safety. Our 8 year old has celiac disease, and we specifically informed our pool server of her gluten allergy when ordering, and ordered one of the few items marked as gf on the menu. Despite this, she was served and ate gluten. Another day she attended the kids club. The kids club takes place at dinner time and includes dinner. The only option they could serve her was a plain chicken breast and fruit. Given the lack of attention to providing safe gluten free options, I’d recommend celiacs stay elsewhere. Despite all the kid-friendly positives here, we likely won’t return. Overall, this is a lovely and very family-oriented resort, but one where improved allergy protocols and options would make a meaningful difference.

The place is great, room was big, the staff were helpful, we’ve only tried a small pool and it was heated to a good temperature. We came with kids and they had fun at the arcade and riding the golf cart.

This is a lovely resort with lots to do with kids. My Grands loved the lazy river. Our suite was spacious with an adjoining room for family. Everything was clean and beautifully landscaped. Fireplaces and fire pits were everywhere. The terrace was a relaxing place to hang out.

Overall experience with hotel was ok. Nice resort, nice amenities. Biggest issues were with a privacy breach where an unknown and unidentified person from the resort entered our room without previous consent or knowledge. Was not housekeeping or room service. They left a note in our room for a "welcome greeting" for a family that was not ours, and a family that wasn't even staying in the same building of the resort. Room was obviously already being occupied and staff still came into the main part of the room and did who knows what while in there. All of our belongings and valuables were out in plain sight as we were not expecting anyone entering as housekeeping had come an hour earlier. Very unsettling that mistakes like that are being made and grown men our coming into our room when there are single women and children that can be present in room. Little to no explanation by staff up front and absolutely zero accountability taken. Brushed off our concern almost immediately and offered zero act of good faith for issue. Got hung up on multiple times while trying to investigate the breach of privacy in my girlfriend and I's room. Without a doubt a first in our countless hotel and airbnb stays. Jasmin at front needs to find a new profession because hospitality isn't it. Very rude, talked over myself and girlfriend and hung up on us while on phone with her because she didn't like the fact we weren't happy with her terrible explanation of people coming into our room unauthorized. For that reason we will probably not return. Also double date charged a fraudulent fee on our room service and never resolved it. I can imagine they do this and it goes unnoticed all the time and they get away with raking in thousands in fraudulent "service fees" that they can't explain nor remove. Kind of slimy business practices.

The sink drains slowly; there are green rust stains around the bathtub drain; the showerhead leaks; and there is unknown grime on the walls of the sink. The carpet in the room is extremely dirty—after just a few steps, my socks turned black. Housekeeping left floor mats piled on the dressing table, right next to my personal belongings. During cleaning, they also moved my private items, including my retainer, toothbrush, personal products, and the bag containing them. The room facilities are outdated, there is an unpleasant odor in the room, and the air conditioner emits a strange smell when turned on. Sound insulation is very poor—it’s noisy, and I could still hear music at midnight. For breakfast, the buffet area was closed earlier than the announced time, even though three or four tables of guests were still eating and coming in and out freely. The staff spoke arrogantly, used “wait a moment” as an excuse, and left us ignored on the side. Several staff members were chatting while we were kept waiting. Overall, the stay experience fell far short of four-star standards. Both service and room facilities were much worse than those of other hotels of the same level.

Beautiful grounds, spacious and super clean rooms, friendly and efficient staff. Holiday decorations were also pretty. Highly recommend!
