"Great stay, but costly extras"

10.0

Always Enjoy our stay at the Marriott Marco Island. The location is great and has one of the nicest beaches to walk. The rooms are clean and the employees we dealt with were all friendly. What has changed is the additional costs for Valet parking ($55/day) and resort fee ($60/day). What you get for these is really not worth what they are charging in addition to room fees. While we will continue to frequent this resort, they should really evaluate these additional costs. Why not just ad them to the room rates.

"Adults beware- giant inflatables EVERYWHERE"

4.0

Adults beware. If you like to swim and relax in a giant inflatable parking lot, this resort is for you. We have been guests here for 13 years and brought our young children here. They enjoyed themselves without distracting other guests at the resort. Now it appears every child must buy a giant inflatable to have fun. Resort has monetized this option and it detracts from other guests. After paying over $1300 for reserved pool side seating for 4 days, we found our view and our relaxation overcome with giant inflatables and unsupervised kids. Resort needs to decide who they are marketing too as I did not pay for a trip to Disney World but to a relaxing beach resort.

"Unprofessional Communication"

2.0

Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing due to poor customer service and lack of communication skills from the staff. Simple questions and concerns were not handled professionally, and there seemed to be a lack of consistency in communication, which created unnecessary frustration during my stay. Hospitality is built on service and guest experience, and unfortunately, this stay did not meet those expectations. I hope management takes guest feedback seriously and works on improving communication and service standards moving forward. My friends and I were directed by the staff to which side is the complementary breakfast and server noticed that we had hot food on our plates and insisted us to pay and told us “ that’s why you should listen to what I told you so now you have to pay for breakfast” so then I only I asked her if I could speak to the breakfast manager who never came to our table.

"LOUD MUSIC EVERYWHERE. Not the Serene, luxurious experience the project. Priority on corporate events."

2.0

We have been to the JW Marriott Marco Island probably 20 times over the past 25 years, and have enjoyed our visits, but I must say, this past visit in May of 2026 may be our last. The resort presents itself as serene and luxurious. Our primary issue is the noise levels. We come to this resort to relax at the pool and the beach for R&R, and to enjoy the dining experiences, but this visit when we got to the pool, there music along the pool area was noticeably louder than we have experienced in the past. Maybe these high noise volumes are a new trend, but it has always been peaceful and relaxing here - so we tried the beach and to our disappointment, we encountered a DJ blasting loud music, for what we found out was a corporate event for 3 of the 4 days we were there. We did not choose the JW Marco Island to hear techno dance beats blasting along the shore. We had to put on our noise cancelling headphones to block out the cocaphony of the music from the beach DJ clashing with the music from the pool area. Not very Serene. The music on the beach was loud and offensive. Seems they are prioritizing corporate events over regular guests. There are other small details that we noticed and would seem unacceptable for a luxury JW experience. The rooms and furniture are a bit dated (the bathrooms did seem newer). Some of the gym equipment wasn’t working; the bathrooms by the pool were not cleaned frequently (I noticed the same clogged toilet for two days) - soap dispensers were empty, towels and water were missing in the fitness room. Our room in particular had an issue with the A/C, which took two calls over our first two days to get resolved. (The engineer suggested we complain and we might get our room upgraded). Apparently there isn’t enough housekeeping staff because at check-in we were offered 1000 Bonvoy points to skip housekeeping service for our visit. A small consolation (those points aren’t worth much anymore), so we elected to have the room refreshed. On our 3rd and 4th day, the room had not been serviced by late afternoon when we got back from the beach to clean up before our dinner plans. Housekeeping eventually gave us some fresh towels, but said they would service our room while we were at dinner. When i got home, I was reviewing our bill and noticed a $110 valet charge - we did not have a car - I called to have that corrected, but i have not seen that fixed as yet. These small details diminish the luxury experience that we have come to expect from a JW. Given the uncomfortably high noise levels, the prioritization of Corporate clients over regular paying guests, and the atmosphere that has not kept up with the rising JW rates, this may be our last time here. We have always enjoyed our time spent at the Marriott in Marco Island, but we were disappointed and this past visit did not seem to live up to the our previous experience and expectations for serenity and luxury.

"Awesome Resort."

10.0

Spent a full week at this resort, and it was awesome! The property is beautiful and the service is excellent. The restaurants, cafes are on point with food options and service. There is also a family arcade with a mini bowling alley and miniature golf. I highly recommend the sushi bar—the sushi was delicious! The pools are also fun. The resort does a great job at the beach relative to bar service, chairs, towels, and jet ski rentals. The room exceeded my expectations. Overall, it’s an amazing property in every way. Highly recommend.

"Checked out early"

4.0

I’ve been wanting to stay here for a while and it had many recommendations. However it certainly felt short of the mark. This resort is huge and it’s overrun with people and children. I have three children on my own, but honestly, this was an insane number of children ! We were supposed to stay three nights and checked out after one night! Our room had a price tag of 2K a night for a family suite with a nice balcony - it did fit us however it wasn’t huge, and certainly not luxurious, considering the price tag. also the balcony is unusable most of the day due to the harsh sun and the way it is designed. There are people everywhere and many annoying little touches like paying $300 for a beach hut with no extra amenities apart from towels and $100 for front row beach chairs, and $47 to reserve a very average beach chair by the kids pool, which by the way is extremely over chlorinated! At least one of the restaurants the frozen drink machine was broken and staff in the retail stores are generally rude and uninterested, however on a positive note. The bell and front desk staff were nice and friendly. There was also no coffee available anywhere in the morning no hot water or coffee. The restaurant for breakfast had a long line. Bottom line if you’re into huge resorts and a lot of people, this is the place for you However, if you’d like something more relaxed, head down to Naples at in on fifth!

"Good Experience"

10.0

If you’ve never been to Marco Island you might think it’s exclusive, posh, or pompous it’s none of that. The island itself seems like an older community that is well kept. Nothing wrong with that but not what we expected. Take a look on google maps to fully visualize it. There are a handful of restaurants within walking distance and the grocery/starbucks/pharmacy stores are a short uber ride away. The JW is nice and appears comprised of 2 hotels they’ve mashed together. Internally that seems seamless but from the outside it appears apparent that some older properties were remodeled to create the JW. We stayed in the adults only area, Sirene. This gave us the perk of being on an adults only floor, exclusive Sirene area check in, guaranteed seating at the beach and the exclusive adults only/Sirene pool and access to the Sirene included breakfast. Generally I would characterize the JW of not doing a good enough job of highlighting the benefits of Sirene, especially the guaranteed seating at the beach and pool. Checkin went well with the Sirene stay having an exclusive area to check in that served drinks and they walk you through all the amenities of the property. The only shocking thing was the $55 a night valet fee or $40 night self park fee, which were both more than my car rental per day. Jacob at the Sirene beach section was customer service oriented helping us get setup with towels and seats. Joe, the food server, was customer oriented as well and doing his best to take orders for food and drinks but was clearly over worked servicing so many people Serene and others staying at the JW. Seems like a miss as when you’re servicing $9 beers and $20 burgers it seems like you would have multiple servers taking orders. Not sure why they appear to be understaffed but notable. In summary, it was a good experience and certainly the Sirene added to the experience but if I were looking for a couples getaway I would consider a high end Cancun resort like Le Blanc before coming back to the JW Marco island. I don’t mind paying more for the safety and security of being in the US but this was 2 to 3X what we would spend in a place like Cancun and didn’t see the value for the costs even with it being a good experience.

"Seriously understaffed"

4.0

We have stayed at Marco Island JW Marriott multiple times, but this might be the last time. The resort was recently bought out by a new investment group and service is highly lacking since then. Here is a summary of our wait times this weekend; you can probably expect the same: 1. Valet took over 15 minutes to take car. 2. Check-in at the front desk took over 25 minutes with a line spiraling around Korals sushi restaurant. 3. Getting chairs and towels at the beach took 27 minutes. Please note each room only gets two beach chairs and one umbrella. If you have kids and need anything more than that, expect to pay around $30+. Not sure when this changed, but wasn’t like that previous visits. 4. Order from the beach food service took almost an hour, 5. Getting towels at the pool took 15 minutes (line of 3 customers?), and the only “open” chairs were way in the back without umbrellas. Meanwhile many “reserved” and unused chairs sitting all over the place. 6. Housekeeping? Not sure. Been here three nights and each day we left our room by 9am only to come back around 3:45pm and the room not yet serviced. I am writing a different review for Korals sushi restaurant but similar experience there at the hotel restaurant. We sat down and ordered drinks and appetizers. The appetizers did not come out until almost one hour into the meal. Kudos to tho manager (Martinez?) who was juggling three jobs at once as best she could. Not sure whats going on, but the place looks a bit run down and way understaffed especially for a long holiday weekend. If you are considering JW Marriott Marco Island, you might want to look at Ritz Carlton or Four Seasons at Naples and have a better overall experience. Sad to write this as we always enjoyed this hotel until this trip.

"Enjoyed our time here"

8.0

They pack quite a lot in a small space - many bars, restaurants, shops etc. - There are only 2 pools and both are quite small. The breakfast was great as were the other restaurants. They have their own beach which is beautiful. Service was slow in every place we went drinks, food etc. They just don't seem to have enough staff and I would say by European standards it is very expensive for what you get and the service charge (for slow service) is off putting. Room was clean and functional but no wow factor - That said we enjoyed our time immensely here but it has adequate room for improvement of the overall guest experience.
