The stay was good but what has happened after checkout has been extremely frustrating and disappointing. We gave our Bonvoy number at checkout and the lady checking us out said “OK, all done!”. Very quickly I realized I didnt have points for this stay that totaled over $2,500, and I contacted The Grand (Marlene), who said she would have a manager add the points. When that wasn’t done, I called back again, Marlene says manager Vicky says she has to wait ten days to fix the points….Fine…and it never got done. Two weeks later, I called and got asst property manager John on the phone and he indicated he would take care of this and give us our points we are due, but now it’s been over a week since our last conversation, i have had no response from John Asst Property Manager, I texted him and received no response. We want our Bonvoy Marriot points we earned, but it’s obviously not important to The Grand Staff.

Great accommodations - delightful staff and grounds! Have a drink outside at sunset -- enjoy the scenery!! Don't miss the cannon fire at 3:45PM daily! Our "go to place" in October -- golf, sun, relaxation and "Crusin the Coast" car show on MS Gulf Coast!

So beautiful, tranquil and peaceful! Everything you could ask for in a wonderful get away! Staff everywhere was friendly, attentive and helpful.

This is my 1st time at this resort. Every employee I came into contact with was Extremely pleasant and helpful!!! Can’t say enough good things about them. From bartender to front desk to housekeeping, all were professional and personable!!! I will definitely come back!

This place was unbelievable!!! We went for Labor Day weekend and the amenities, food and family activities were excellent!! Susan at the front desk is a must meet. She went above and beyond with her customer service and truly loved her guests and kids.

I am a travel agent and had heard great thing about this place. After staying, I will no longer be recommending to clients. We came for a couples getaway and we’re so surprised at the amount of kids here. We felt out of place. It was so noisy everywhere. No pool or beach chairs available. Towels had holes in them. Not to mention, my boyfriend proposed on this trip and worked endlessly with the staff to make sure it was perfect. He had reserved the pier and was told no one would be on it. When we walked up there were people everywhere and our proposal felt ruined. The staff did not put up a sign of the reservation or have anyone looking after it. Afterwards our room was decorated by staff and it was fine but lacked little touches. Felt very thrown together and careless. We did get refunded for the proposal though the events team tried to blame the kids instead of taking responsibility. We were told we were being disrespectful for complaining. The only redeeming quality was the food great, overpriced yes, slow service but enjoyed the food at least. Save your money, go somewhere else.

Overall the hotel was very nice. The grounds were excellently maintained. The entire staff were always pleasant and accommodating to every need. The room we had in the spa building was larger than normal and very clean. The only irritation on the room was the sheets were way too small for the mattress and it became a fight every night to keep them on. The restaurants on site were reasonable priced and were very good, with the exception of Southern Roots. Southern Roots' Manhattans @ $22 per are higher than Miami and NYC. Typical for the area was $15. The food was marginal. We had grouper which was dry and the gnocchi dish which was skillet fried with raw veggies. We did not finish either dish. The hotel had many, many more good points than bad and we will return for a late fall get together with family.

This is not a full service resort experience. Not only are you paying top dollar, the service does not match the rate. The property is VERY spread out and does not offer a lot of amenities. Want to order a bottle of champagne? Don’t call service…you need to scan a non existent QR code. Need a cup of coffee in the morning? Bring your own or trek to the main building. There is no coffee in each building like other resorts and would make total sense. Nor hydration stations. Plus, you are only given two creamers! what happens when three people in a room? Poor directional signage for a property-like this. It feels more like a condominium style property than a full service resort. Do your research. You will need to know how to get around before you get there. A friendly tip you will need your credit card at the pool to get your towel out of the vending machine. The real Star was Doris at the front desk. She was able to get us an early check-in! And the main dining room was nice, and sunset beautiful. For the outrageous price per night I would never recommend this property!

Magnificent stay as always. They had many activities on premises to enrich the stay. Overall service is top notch.

Every time I stay at The Grand, it is an incredible experience! The amenities are fantastic and the grounds and service by the staff are impeccable. I watched the groundskeepers immediately tidy all the outdoor games up after patrons were done playing. The attention to detail at this property is stunning. The staff were all so welcoming, helpful, and respectful to everyone at the property. I only live 5 miles away and still will pay to stay at this property. It certainly makes my family feel like we are in an exotic destination and not just a few minutes down the road from our own home. We will be back!
