Holiday Inn Portsmouth Downtown by IHG

What a dump! This place is dirty, the elevator was filthy as was the tiled floor outside of the elevator on the fifth floor. When we checked in the young lady was miserable, she didn't smile at all, I thought maybe she was having an off day but nope she was just as unpleasent the next day at checkout. (You know who you are, September 10th in the afternoon) Laundry was out of order. The pool was so dirty around the sides people had written their namesin the filth around the edges of the pool. There is not much choice of places to stay in this town and at $160 without breakfast included I would Not advise staying here

Bathroom was very small and no exhaust fan. Doable though and the facility was lovely.

We got bit by BED BUGS which completely ruined the stay for me. This is very is very disappointing since it’s $200+ a night. I had to leave two personal pillows and a nice blanket because I didn’t want to bring bugs home. The bed was comfy. The standard bathroom is very small. The pool was great; it is 3-6ft deep. Temperature well regulated. Did not smell c like chlorine! They had great ventilation in the pool area. No hot tub. Take your own swim towels. The swim towels provided are the size of hand towels.

What was once a lovely hotel has fallen into disrepair due to crummy maintenance and poor cleaning practices. We changed rooms twice and still not clean smelling. The floor was filthy! Wrote directly to Angelaholsinger@downtownmanagement.net with the details.
