Holiday Inn Portsmouth Downtown by IHG

Hotel is conveniently located when visiting family. Staff very nice and accommodating.

Loved the room, and the pool was beautiful.

It would be nice if breakfast was included, especially for thevprice we paid per night.

Clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and check in was easy. They have a restaurant but there are also plenty of options for doordash. Hotel also has a huge pool area right off a lobby, I didn’t use it so I can’t tell anyone if it was good or not.

Staff was very accommodating, especially since I arrived very late.

This location is in need of a bit of updating. There is only one VERY tiny elevator. Our room was not very clean upon our arrival and the air conditioner stopped working halfway through our stay. The staff working that particular day were very helpful, but other staff members on different occasions were less than kind and even sarcastic. The pool area is the nicest part of this hotel. Overall, I would stay here again but only because it is far better than any of the other options in Portsmouth. If they updated their facilities, this could easily be a 4 star stay.

The hotel in general was clean and the staff I spoke with were friendly. I would have liked the fitted sheets to be pulled and tucked in tightly, as they were loose, which gave the appearance someone had previously slept in the bed. Next visit I will request a room away from the ice dispenser, as I could hear visitors retrieving their ice which was a disturbance. I did not read the fine print and assumed there would be a continental breakfast, no free breakfast but there is a restaurant in the building.
