Grand Sierra Resort and Casino

We love the grand Sierra rooms. They're really classy and nice. Clean and for what you get it's a great value. If you book directly with grand Sierra they also give you great rewards. We had problems with our rewards but laasie which administers the rewards made it right. They provided great customer service.

Great stay. Nice, clean hotel with fast service. When you book on website you receive a reward from Laasie for starbucks gift card , movies, and other events. It's a good deal.

We checked into room 480-something near the VERY end of the 4th floor hallway. Since this was our first time here, I expected a room with at least some kind of view or closer to the elevator since we requested one. I guess not. Once in the room... oh boy. Obvious crumbs of dirt or chocolate or who-knows-what on the foot bench. There were post it notes of shopping lists in one of the side stand drawers. Did they even look in here? We have a spectacular view of... a wall. Pillowcases had dirt or chocolate on them, even the extra one we requested. Are they serious? It made me not want to touch anything. In the bathroom, there were no washcloths. Are we being punked? The sink faucet is loose, and looks like it has been for a long time given the black line of worn out chrome down into the sink. Nobody walks around with a little screwdriver who could fix things like this in 4 seconds? This would never be the case at Peppermill or Atlantis. As far as design, who decided to put a wall between the bed and the nightstand? I have to sit up to look around it to see anything. It also looks like nobody vacuums the hallway, as the same bits of trash and dirty plastic silverware were there for the 2 days we were there. Disgusting filth. As for the fees, they tried to charge us $1.99 housekeeping fee. For what? For completely skipping this room? Get outta’ here. And can someone tell me why it takes almost a week to get the deposit back? As I said, this was our first time here, and it will be the last. I wasn’t looking for a suite, but we didn’t even get a clean room or a room even remotely close to the elevator. The first impression was a total failure.

Long lines. Too many kids on the gaming floor and kids screaming in the hallway at 2am. Worse stay ever, if you want R&R. Gsr Is not the place to stay. Crazy check in lines an hour wait for VIP members and cocktail service once an hour MAYBE. I understand busy holidays but I’ll never stay at GSR on a new years ANYTHING ever again. Worse casino stay EVER.

Horrific experience. We expect parties etc, but we were staying at the end of the hall with an adjoining foyer room on the 4 th floor and had the worse experience after 100+ stays at this hotel. After the “neighbors” checked in on 12/30 at 2am. They continued to yell let their kids scream at the top of their lungs for 2 hours. To find out they were not even registered to the room. The grandparents were. Then the next night on new years the did the same thing at 2am and security did nothing. This is not the place to stay if you want a couples retreat. Shannon is there general manager and truly your hotel and gaming experience is horrendous. After 15 years you have lost 2 infinite members. We will NEVER be back. The quality of your clientele is California trash and the gun violence shows. As alumni of UNR we will never watch a game in your new stadium because we no longer feel safe at your property.

This place looks great on pictures and is actually a great place for family for what is available on site. However, it seems poorly managed and the front desk poorly trained. I say poorly managed as there are numerous mistakes on their online website. I booked a studio suite because it has 900 sq ft and says rooms 4 max. Usually this implies there is available bed space in the room for 4. Unfortunately we found out when we went into the room that there isn’t. The reservation system is thru a third party it seems so the front desk staff do not know much other than the room you choose and the cost. On check in, they didn’t confirm the number of people staying in the room. Also didn’t inform us how the $30 credit works( only if you order food or drinks and that it is per room per day). We had multiple visits and multiple hours wasted out of a 2 day stay just making our room able to sleep 4 and have enough towels and such for the 4 of us. Part of the problem is a reliance on AI to order your housekeeping needs, so only one thing can really be passed on at a time or additional things might get missed. On checkout, they didn’t check how our stay was even though it wasn’t busy. I overall got the feeling that the staff is so used to complaints that they didn’t care to ask. They absolutely didn’t know how to fix problems.

Had a wonderful get away with my family. The location was perfect to get around the city. The rooms were very clean and very fair priced. As a gambler the floor was nice and comfortable for those who do not smoke. Me and the wife went to the spa and it was very relaxing. I booked directly with tripadvisor and Lassie support rewarded me with a star bucks gift card!! Amazing customer service would 100% recommend anyone going to Reno to stay here.

I absolutely LOVED how I was treated at the grand cafe by my awesome waitress Irma. Not only did she see a black woman and think "wow, must be hard raising kids by yourself as a single mom" (not only think, but say, ladies and gentlemen!). But, she ALSO assumed I couldn't afford my meal and told me to make sure to check the prices before I order!! How lovely, right? Is this how you treat your guests? Sat down and the woman took forever to come over. Didn't even ask us for drinks until the second time around. Quick and rude. Mind you. There weren't many people around. It wasn't busy. Im not sure if she didn't care about me because you know, she assumed I was poor and probably wouldn't tip her or what it was but she was incredibly rude. Assumed I was a single mother (I'm happily married. Thank you very much). Not until I went to pay with my black card did she start kissing up! "Your dress looks so beautiful on you" ok baby, but it didn't look beautiful before? Not until you saw that I was a rewards member? I used to bring my entire family here every Spring break while we visit fam! Around 50 people from my family without even counting family friends. You all lost that business! Along with the business of my own business trips and company partners. Will be letting everyone I know to not step foot into this terrible environment. I wanted to address my concerns with the manager but after seeing the two laughing and giggling together, arms around waist, I knew I wouldn't be listened to! I would rather bite a nail than hire someone like her at my establishment. Terrible that a woman of color herself would treat another the way she treated me.

We decided to fulfill a bucket list item this Thanksgiving: taking the train from the beginning of the transcontinental railway through the Sierra Nevada mountains to Reno. I booked the Grand Sierra Resort ("GSR") on a bit of a whim, and I am so glad I did! When we arrived, the lobby was bedecked in Christmas cheer. (Whoever did the decorations did an awesome job!) The person who checked us in was so kind and welcoming. The room we were provide was on the 18th floor of the "Vista Tower." The room was HUGE and very well appointed. We also had a great view of both the Reno airport as well as the snow-capped Sierra Nevada mountains. Since our train got in late in the afternoon, I decided to book a restaurant at the resort for our first night (we planned to stay for 2 nights). We booked Rim, a pan-Asian eatery on the casino level of the resort. The restaurant decor (as well as the decor of the other restaurants on restaurant row) was great. Someone has a great eye!!! Rim was not just nice to look at, it was a great place to eat. The menu has so many choices, and if what we ordered was any indication, all the food is wonderful! Our server was also fantastic (thanks Jerimiah!) In fact, we liked Rim so much we went back a second night! After dinner we spent some time in the Casino. The machines I played did not disappoint, giving me back $100 more than I started with. All-in-all, GSR was a great choice for our Reno getaway!!

IRMA PAEZ is the answer. We went to the Sierra Cafe. Our waitress was Irma Paez. Her service was brilliant. She took such good care of us and was so friendly. She is efficient and innovative.
