Holiday Inn Johnstown-Downtown by IHG

I am really disappointed. I chose this hotel over others in the area that were rated the same but much lower priced because of the hot tub. I get there and it’s closed, my daughter had no hot water at all. Mine was lukewarm. The ice machine on my floor wasn’t plugged in. No vending machines and the safety chain on our door was installed upside down so you couldn’t use it. The lady at the desk said this was actually the case with a lot of rooms so that’s even more concerning. The deadbolt for the adjoining room door wasn’t lined up totally right so it just touched… it didn’t actually lock. Then there was the white substance all over the desk and curtain… I seriously don’t even want to think about what it could be… so nasty.

I had a wonderful experience at this hotel. It was a last minute find for a graduation and I’m so glad I chose this one! All of the staff was friendly, including Mr. Rayan / Ryan who highly recommended the restaurant that my family was able to enjoy during their stay. He was also a friendly face to see around the property. The rooms are amazing . Wonderful size, clean, and I had a decent view. I just feel they need more outlets (but it could’ve just been my room. There is also a bar/restaurant within walking distance that had a tasty Salmon. Overall, I highly recommend this beautiful town and hotel!

Close to a college town so the opportunity for a bald 40y/o to find his 20y/o true love at the local bar…forget the lottery; I’m winning with tiger blood! Parking spot was asphalted. Employee areas were clean and organized. No one floating in the rooftop water tank.

They charged me for a 3rd room when I only needed 2. The rude button pusher at the front desk said room #2 payment didn’t go through. I paid the invoice early and showed her on the invoice I paid for 2 rooms.

The ice machine did not work on our floor. There were no vending machines at all in the hotel. If you wanted any beverage, i was told to go to the restaurant and get a to-go cup. It would have been nice to have been told this at check-in, along with breakfast info, etc. Calling the front desk went to 12 rings, twice. The tub was extremely slippery. I dont know why hotels even have tubs/shower combos anymore. The are dangerous. A walk-in shower is perfect.

Not many hotels are truly quiet anbd this one was no exception. Hallway traffic way too loud even during quiet hours and I was put in a room right behind the elevators which should be seriously soundproofed. Okay stay, definately not a "must stay" if I go back to Johnstown

The hotel seems to be going through a remodel. Hopefully the rooms will be updated soon. The beds were comfy and the staff that we encountered were absolutely wonderful and so friendly. The kicker is the parking situation. I’ve never felt more sketched out than I was when I was parking at around 10pm. There was an obvious drug deal going down and I felt very unsafe. Do yourself a favor and make sure you are in the hotel before dark.

It’s a shame to spend this much money and receive treatment that feels more like a low-end motel than a high-quality hotel. I’ve stayed at Holiday Inns that were far cleaner and more accommodating than this place. I found hair by the pillow and what looked like buildup or gunk in the sink—completely unacceptable. Needless to say, I will not be staying here again. I travel frequently for business and have experienced a wide range of accommodations, but this was truly disappointing. The management is unresponsive, the front desk staff was rude and unprofessional, and housekeeping clearly does not prioritize guest comfort or cleanliness. Absolutely absurd experience.
