Pool was just clean, front desk nice

So dirty and rundown. Rooms with floors barely vacuumed, hairs still in the shower, odd stains on the walls

I had a terrible experience at Ashmore Inn & Suites in Lubbock and would strongly advise others to avoid staying here. When my son and I checked in, our first room door was wide open. I immediately called the front desk and was switched to another room, but things only got worse from there. The hallways smelled strongly of marijuana, and there were people in the lobby who appeared to be under the influence, lying on the couches. The second room was in unacceptable condition—dirty carpets, unmade beds, and a broken latch on the sliding door that would not lock, which felt very unsafe. At that point, I went back to the front desk and told them I could not stay there and requested a refund. Booking.com also contacted them, and I was told I would only be charged a cancellation fee. However, I was charged the full amount and still have not received a refund. I ended up having to book another hotel last minute so my son could get proper rest for his Texas Tech camp. We used to stay here often when my daughter played softball, but this hotel has clearly gone downhill. It is poorly maintained, and management does not seem to care about guest safety or satisfaction. I will never stay here again.

Staff was nice.

Lights didnt work. Wall paper was falling off the walls, my room had no toiletries, television didnt work

The side door was completely broke, there was sketchy people outside drinking and smoking. The pool was disgusting with trash and green mold, it usable at all, the entire place smelt bad they had candles and spray to try to mask the smell, the room was also nasty we walked in and right back out and lost out on money because I had to book another hotel For us to stay at so we would feel safe and comfortable, we literally didn’t want to touch anything in that place, definitely not worth what they charge and they need to do some work on this place! Will absolutely never go there and do not recommend
