Quinta da Magnólia

The Quinta has the perfect location, right in the center of the island. It has a wonderful view over Pico and is very well refurbished. The staff is lovely and very helpful.

By far in my top 3 hotels. Family owned newly renovated boutique style hotel. I stayed in the Jr suite so I can only speak on that room. It was literally a cottage off the hotel building. Spacious, quiet, beautifully decorated and comfortable. Check in was a pleasant experience with Pedro who greeted me with a special local treat and what tasted like freshly squeezed orange juice. I arrived early and he was able to check me in, which I greatly appreciated after traveling for 12 hours. The infinity pool was clean and relaxing. I stood there in relaxation mode as I listened to the birds chirping and zoomed in on Pico mountain straight ahead. The hotel has a decent breakfast spread which I treated myself to one day. There is a small bar for cocktails and hot beverages. There is no restaurant. However, there are three restaurants in walking distance and several more in neighboring towns by car. Pedro will assist with reservations and taxis as needed. My experience was truly magical. The hospitality and attention grabbed my attention. This will absolutely be my hotel of choice of I'm ever on the island again.

Beautiful boutique hotel in São Jorge - clean, newly renovated rooms with sea view (not 100% sure all rooms do have sea view, but ours did and it was really nice to wake up to that). Nice breakfast and great service from hotel management. Location is perfectly central so you can get everywhere in the island in no time if you have a car (parking is free and on site). I would very much recommend it to anyone wishing to visit this beautiful island!

I made a reservation through Expedia and realized I had made an error on the date of the booking. I cancelled one minute later and the hotel has taken a fifty percent of the booking and refuses to waive the penalty or credit it to a future stay. I sent an email to them and they promised to refund the money but now they have denied the refund. They have taken $200 for a reservation 9 months ahead of time.

Really nice hotel. Great room with fantastic view. The breakfast was really good and the staff sometimes served an extra treat. We arrived prior to check in time, with the intent to store our luggage. Since the breakfast was still open they invited us to have something to eat, free of charge.

We loved staying at Quinta da Magnolia! The building is beautifully designed - traditional building style outside with contemporary detailing inside. Our room was spacious and immaculately clean with a huge balcony. The staff is incredibly friendly and all spoke English perfectly (which was a welcome bonus since our Portuguese is less than stellar). We visited in the winter so the pool was not open, but beautiful to look at nonetheless. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to visit Sao Jorge!
