Spacious rooms Restaurant absolutely fabulous so I’d stay again despite the old tired rooms

Old property so windows felt like they would break if you opened them, bathroom door kept jamming.

Breakfast cooked choice was very good, continental parts just enough, spacious room, check-in process painless, easy to access at all hours, no problem finding a parking space.

Worth spelling out to guests in the pre-visit message that although it's a paying car park (£12 a day), you can ignore the payment signs and simply give your reg number to the reception. Even so, ensure you are in a Bear Inn parking space (not the public ones). It's central location by the main road means you may well hear the odd vehicle going by - if so, take ear plugs.

"Another great stay at the Bear"

The room was spacious and very comfortable. Very good evening meal. Hilary was especially helpful. The room was good value for money. I have now been staying at the Bear for 10 years!

No concerns.
