Thon Hotel Polar

The location is 1 min walk to the main Street, the room was clean and spacious. The stuff at the reception and breakfast was very helpful and welcoming. The breakfast variety was good.

Bit expensive for what it was. Wasn’t very sound proof, facing the road it gets a little noise from cars ect.. shower head not that best.,carpet in corridors is a bit tacky looking. Noticed quite alot of dust build up under the bed and under the desk area when I picked things up

Fantastic breakfast. Complimentary tea and coffee in reception area. Staff were very professional and friendly.

Room a bit on the small side, but bed was comfortable and shower had plenty of hot water, room serviced daily.

Die zentrale Lage des Thon Hotel Polar ist hervorragend fuer Ausflüge und Besichtigungen in der Stadt. Die Sehenswürdigkeiten sind Fuß läufig erreichbar. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Man fühlt sich sehr gut aufgehoben. Hervorragend ist die Vielfalt des reichhaltigen Fruehstuecksbuffets. Da ist fuer jeden etwas dabei.

We booked a Business Room, which was honestly shocking and very disappointing. While the room was spacious, it had many serious flaws. Calling it a “Business Room” is misleading when the view is just the wall of a neighboring building, the floor is damaged, and the room was clearly not properly cleaned. We found a large amount of long hair in the shower cabin and scattered throughout the room. In the toilet, there was also hair and dried urine — extremely unhygienic and unacceptable. This was one of the worst room conditions we have ever experienced. Unfortunately, we could not change rooms because the hotel was fully booked. We were offered a 50% discount, but even at half price, the condition of the room was still unacceptable. We had no choice but to stay the night in this unpleasant room, which is not what you expect when spending your holidays. The hotel clearly needs to reassess its room standards, improve housekeeping control, and carry out overdue renovation work. The price is definitely not justified. For future trips to Tromsø, we will only book Thon Hotel Tromsø, where we have had excellent experiences. Sadly, Thon Hotel Polar did not meet expectations at all.
