Puteus Palace Brac

We loved our stay at Puteus. Great location, wonderful building in stunning grounds with a sweet terrace and special pool in a secret garden. Staff are professional, friendly and helpful with a mention to Fran who was outstanding. The breakfast is outstanding and we enjoyed a great lunch (best club sandwich ever) and a delightful evening meal. We enjoyed our stay but we had one majors issue that some guests may not have accepted with the grace we did……

Our room, room 6 had a really bad smell throughout our stay. I think it was a dead rodent as it had that sweet bad lingering odour. We reported it to the front desk after enjoying lunch and an afternoon at the pool and it was clear they were aware of the stink. They said it wasn’t a dead rodent but was to do with drains , the nearby harbour and phases of the moon! Honestly. The front desk person said there wasn’t an alternative room for all three nights of our stay and so couldn’t move us. I suggested they moved us and then let the guests due to arrive on our last day that room 6 was stinky and not lettable. He said he would speak to management but we got no contact. We decided to stick it out as we loved the place and we were at the end of a tour of Dalmatia and just wanted to have a relaxing 3 days to end a great two weeks The stink was there when we opened our room door throughout the stay and whilst we got accustomed once in the room it was there the whole time. A plug in air freshener provided after we raised the stink didn’t help and in fact made it worse. So Puteus management. Get the stink sorted for future guests or consider not letting room 6. We re vert very accepting but other guests may not be and would demand a room move, cost reduction or other offers of resolution or compensation. It spoils your hotel and all guests should expect a room without a smell. On return home we have unpacked and the clothes have the lingering smell of room 6. Not a great way to remember our otherwise wonderful holiday in Croatia.

Some softer towels

The Puteus Palace has a fabulous location in the centre of Pučišća. It has been beautifully restored and is exceptionally maintained. Breakfast was presented beautifully and we enjoyed the evening we spent in the restaurant where we were served by Sasha who was attentive and keen to look after us to a high standard.

The neighbouring church rings its bells at 6am to a very joyful tune.

beautiful hotel staff were fabulous and friendly breakfast is outstanding the best we’ve ever had and presented so well. can also order hot food bacon eggs etc. evening meal wonderful and spa bookings taken for privacy. great location not touristy beautiful looking hotel will be back i’m sure

This may seem pedantic but the only thing I would criticise is the towels in the bedroom were very hard. The towels provided for the beach and pool were great.

Pucisca is an idyllic little village set around the small harbour. Puteus Palace has an ideal situation close to the waters edge. We booked the Standard Double Room with sea view and we were not disappointed. The room was far bigger than we expected and was very comfortable. The room was well equipped with everything you could need but staff were always on hand to help if you needed anything. The breakfast options were very incredible with every possible thing you could think of, and more. The restaurant is exceptional and we 'ate in' twice during our stay. The biggest asset of the hotel are the staff - they were attentive and helpful at all times. Genuine service with a smile and nothing was too much trouble.
