Mills House Charleston, Curio Collection by Hilton

Loved our overall experience and stay!

The Mills House is a beautiful hotel and is located in the historic district of Charleston. You can walk to everything. We did not rent a car and had no issues walking to our tours or restaurant reservations. The staff is very accommodating. It wasn't warm enough to use the pool while we were there, but it would be nice in the warmer months. Breakfast was good, although a bit pricey. I would highly recommend staying there for a visit to Charleston

The rooms were okay but everything that comes with the hotel like the pool and the gym and bar and the food were excellent and the location in the city is everything I really liked that.

Everything you could want can be found at the Mills House. Location is amazing and the room was stunning. The southern touches are everywhere. Something very special here.

A family birthday and neighborhood hunting for a possible move brought us to Charleston this visit. One of our favorite places to travel in to, we always find something new when there. We arrived early, and it was unreasonably hot for April. I asked if I could find ice to refresh our cooler that had very expensive compounded medication. Akelia at the front desk was so accommodating. She brought us plenty of ice, and stored our bag so my cooler wouldn't be sitting in a hot car until our room became available. When our room was available, they moved our items upstairs for us while we were out enjoying the city. So convenient. The room was clean, beds comfortable, and ample towels on hand. The coffee shop on 1st floor has delicious choices. The restaurant/bar and pool are inviting and fun. Staff always on hand to offer assistance to our wheelchair. The valet were very helpful, professional and polite. We had a terrific stay and will be back again soon.

Overall, we had a wonderful stay at the Mills House. The staff was generally great. The bartender, Nate, was extraordinary and really added to our experience. The only negative was the amount of college kids at our pool. They snuck in and took up a lot of the chairs. I complained to the front desk but they said that this had become a problem and it was impossible to manage.

Comfortable rooms with great amenities and staff. Lots of places to eat and drink.

The hotel itself is very beautiful and perfectly located however after being treated the way we were by the valet staff we would never return. Our car- a new 2025 Audi Etron RSGT was taken by a young valet guy on Friday afternoon, upon pickup the next morning our car we opened our car door to find a large plastic panel on the backseat floor, the valet and ourselves had no idea what had happened, it was a panel that had come off the inside of our car, he apologized, took all our info said he’d comp the valet charges and they’d be in touch- we were then contacted by a manager to say it was already like that when we dropped off the vehicle, they valet from Friday!! Which is 1000 was not, the valet guy had obviously done something and covered his back by saying ‘it was like this when they dropped it off’ it 💯 was not. And we don’t even want anything or a single penny but to be called liars by them and they then make out like we made the whole thing up is just disgraceful. Without sounding arrogant and crude we drive a $175,000 why would we try to ‘scam’ the Valet company over a few bucks?!! Just left a horrible taste ! Beware if you use the valet service. Audi fixed the car for a couple hundred bucks but the point here isn’t about the money it’s the most terrible customer experience!

I come to Charleston several times a year and the only place I stay is The Mills House. For years, I have had the best experience, been close to shopping and restaurants and love to go walking all over this beautiful City. For several years now, I have been thrilled to see my favorite employee at the front desk! Akelia is an amazing and has from the very beginning made me feel very special. I always ask when she will be working and appreciate how she is so kind, helpful and knowledgeable. Thank you for a wonderful experience every time...
