2417 at Lihue Oceanfront Resort

The bedding was so comfortable. The 3 pool choices were nice. I liked that they didn't look like your typical swimming pool, especially the lagoon. And the water slide was fun. The iced tea in the lobby at check in time was a nice treat. You could get a smoothie or coffee in the gift shop. Even though the ocean is unswimmable, it was nice to have a bit of beach to walk on.

There is no hotel bar, but I imagine that will change once all the remodeling is done. Also, due to remodeling you have to walk through restaurant to get to pool area.

Very beautiful, clean, well-maintained grounds, gorgeous pools, well-cleaned rooms, very friendly maids. The grounds are very large and green.

The staff, including the managers, were unfriendly and unobservant (we had paid over $2,000 in advance through Booking.com, which they didn't see, and said it was our problem, without trying to help). Then, after we started calling Booking.com, they found the problem in their system within 25 minutes. They didn't even apologize; if they hadn't found the error, my family would have been forced to spend the night on the street. There was a distinct lack of trust on their part. They ruined our vacation, and we had to leave early because of it. Overall, the hotel is great, but the attitude towards people is poor.

I liked that the beach was a close walk

I was treated very poorly by the woman at the front desk. Truly for no reason, I am surprised by how kind and patient I stayed throughout the experience because I have never been talked to so poorly for no reason other than asking questions. I left crying because I have never experienced such treatment. I don’t have words for how that interaction made me feel.

Room was too outdated. Staff were fantastic, Didn’t have to use the hot tub and spa. Parking charges is ridiculously expensive although knew that per booking. Enjoyed the breakfast buffet every day to start our day and had a great time mainly relaxing by the pool and walks on the beach.

No outlets to charge phones most of them use behind bed or desk. No tea. We all don’t drink just coffee ☕️. Had to go to Starbucks for tea 🫖
