The light outside the window was especially bright and the shades did not block the light. Quiet and clean otherwise

Fire place didnt work, but it was still fine

The Residence Inn Spartanburg is a quality hotel with many more amenities than I expected for the price. Our king room had a full sized fridge, two burner stove top, a fireplace in the sitting area, an excellent mattress on the kind bed, and a great shower head in the shower! The bathroom lights were arranged around the corner from the bed so the early riser didn't disturb the one sleeping in. The dressing area has actual drawers to put all your toiletries away instead of having to leave them on the counter. The bathroom counter top was gigantic, making getting ready in the morning easy for two people. Nell at the front desk was particularly helpful during our stay.

Marriotts are usually pretty reliable, but this one was disappointing. Building was old and needed updating/cleaning. Room smelled like smoke. I stayed on a very cold night and heat couldn’t keep up. Set the thermostat to 71, but it got down to 59 overnight and never made it above 63 while I was there. Sink handle was broken. Cabinets were all covered in a sticky film. Was randomly charged a $5 “parking recovery fee” after I left. Also this hotel js comprised of a bunch of small buildings with 8-ish rooms each. Not an indoor hotel. Will not stay again.

Needs a serious refresh. Property and rooms looked old. Breakfast was good. Staff was friendly. Room was unclean.
