Amazing position, house, staff. Everything was perfect!

It is set in lovely mature grounds on a height overlooking the Lake and tooth temple. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast was excellent

While the property is an interesting and quaint colonial style house, we did observe some damp/mould on a bedroom wall which caused a bit of a odour. The internal doors are in need of cleaning and painting to freshen the place up.

The location is excellent -- a quick stroll downhill to the lake and waiting tuktuks and gorgeous views of Kandy lake, the Temple of the Tooth Relic, the enormous Buddha statue atop the nearby hill. Our room was spacious and the colonial period furniture -- four poster canopy bed, wardrobe, dresser added charm. The common areas were likewise well designed and were both aesthetic and comfortable. Breakfast, was included with the room and we tried both the Western and Sri Lankan breakfast options; both were beautifully presented and delicious. The staff are very courteous.

Our first night, the staff recommended we dine at a nearby restaurant they are associated with. The food was not good and overpriced. After a day of sight seeing the following day, we were too tired to go into town and asked to eat a Sri Lankan dinner -- this was both surprisingly expensive and not very good.
