The property is beautifully decorated, staff are incredibly friendly and they even upgraded our stay because it was our honeymoon! The hotel has incredible views over Kandy lake.

Wonderful place great breakfast

The most exquisite boutique hotel, once a colonial bungalow. The winding driveway sets the scene, for what lies ahead nestled in the hillside. We were warmly greeted with a refreshing watermelon drink. Our room had a wonderful four poster bed, with crisp linen and comfy pillows. Evening dinner was served by candlelight outside on the verandah overlooking the Kandy Lake and Temple of the tooth! With the hustle and bustle of Kandy city down below. Special mention to Chamindu and Hiruna who were the most attentive waiters, of which nothing was too much trouble, helpful and very professional. Clean, beautifully decorated with well appointed bedrooms and bathrooms. Breakfast either English or Sri Lankan can be served inside at the grand dining table or outside on the terrace. Lovely view over Kandy lake. Old colonial residence which was the governors house. Good air conditioning and excellent shower. Bed comfortable. They are building a pool which will be a lovely addition.

No bin in the room - only a clothes bin. The mosquito net had clearly not been used or aired in sometime as there were insects in it, bottles of water were glass and difficult to open due to the aluminium top seal not working - so get them to open them before bed! Windows need repainting. Asked for tonic water and it wasn’t available.

View was nice, staff was engaged. Flexibel re checkout time after challenging staff on it (first told me it was 10am, while contracted via booking was 12 — then was able to extend to 3pm).

Property really dated overall. Scratches on furtinure and stains in pillows etc., even in the main area. Didn’t make a good impression. Bottled water smelled really terrible, didn’t seem fresh or bottled, more like tap water. Really bad smell in the room, like moist and musty. Very disgusting. Incredibly overpriced and not at all worth the money.
