Singular Joy Downtown Residences

The hotel or apartment residence is in a great location. Just one hotel in front of you before the beach and the biggest clubs are right in the next street also the famous shooing street and all restaurants. The rooftop pool is amazing, had to work remotely and chose it because of the rooftop. Amazing view and cheap & good cocktails. Staff is nice and the rooms great.. loved the suites, were like a little apartment. Overall great, I was alone and felt save and the staff was really caring and polite!

Our stay was great up until our last night when the ac shut down. I can understand issues come up but there was no solution offered. The front desk worker simply apologized and said there was nothing he could do. The worker also mentioned this was a frequent issue at that specific room. The fact that this is a reoccurring issue means they should at least be ready for a solution. I asked for a room change or a fan but they could not provide either. Our last night was extremely uncomfortable as we had to try to het some sleep in a hot humid room. We had the window open all night to get a bit of fresh air but it was still very hot and humid . Definitely the worst end to our vacation. No one ever apologized for the issue or tried to reach out with a solution. I emailed the management 3 days ago and have not received a reply or call from them. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone due to the fact that when issues come up they simply don't offer a solution.

The land line phone in the room wasn't working. So I told the hotel staff in the lobby. They said they would send someone. The whole day passed, now nighttime, and the phone was still not working. They said that they had already told someone and that they were looking at it "tomorrow" (with a little bit of an "attitude" tone if I'm not mistaken) 4 nights later and upon checking out, the phone was still not working. We told a different guy now at the lobby, he said he was the maintenance guy and that nobody told him anything. Try not to take your guests requests too seriously, Singular Joy. Especially the in-room landline phone, I think it's critical in case for emergencies.

Check in was easy..I was even given an upgrade on my room. I had a 1 room apartment..it was very clean and bed was very comfortable! Noise from the near by clubs were a bit bothersome but due to covid they close down by 11pm or midnight. The location is excellent!..beach is very close by and also 5th Ave. Walmart is about a quick 15 min walk. I also checked in on another reservation and stayed in a hotel type room. The room was clean and bed was comfortable! View from the window was really nice--had black out curtains also.. The roof top has the most amazing view and Julian is an awesome bar tender..makes great drinks as well!! I just booked my 3rd stay in Playa for November to stay at Singular Joy..it is a wonderful place to stay!..like a Home Away from Home!

The room was great! Clean, spacious, comfortable , very well equipped and in a great location. we were able to walk around Playa del Carmen; also the port that for the ferry to Cozumel is a few blocks away, so never needed to rent a car or take a taxi.

Rooms are small but clean and new. Most of the staff helpful, especially Christopher! Great rooptop but bartender not busy or attentive
