Sleepy Hollow Hotel

October 2025 Came to Sleepy Hallow for the events. The lobby was grand and thought we made a good decision to spend $500. to stay there. Upon checking in we were informed that the elevator near our 2nd floor room was out of service. No big deal but there were bi-level floors and we were on the top (2 1/2 floor) with additional steps. So be it. I did wonder why they had us on the top floor when there were no events happening in the hotel's several convention rooms? The hallways and out room looked worn and dated with our room smelling a little stale. The thermostat was showing 74 and the was no air circulating. I lowered the thermostat to 69. The bathroom door would close properly due to the top hinge. We then left for our events. We stopped at the front desk to inquiry about breakfast to be informed that this was a "kosher" hotel and we not be having a full breakfast. The staff said the hotel offers a free "continental breakfast" we consisted on a small table with bagels and muffins and another tea and coffee table (no orange juice). Upon returning to the hotel, we went to the bar /restaurant area where the bar tender was doubling as the waiter. The menu was very basic and the chicken fingers and salad was sub-par. Returning to our room we lowered the thermostat to 66 believing the A/C would kick in and circulate the air. I woke up during the night and the room was hot and no air movement. I attempted to open a window but was unable. Later that morning I saw that the window was screwed locked preventing it from opening. Engineering came up to the room and we were informed that the A/C in the fall. Do yourself a favor and skip this place and save a couple of hundred dollars. Read less EV charging station O.O.S. Great Stay – Better Than Expected! I was unsure about booking because of mixed reviews, but our two-night stay for our 30th anniversary was excellent. The front desk manager, Arion, went above and beyond—she personally adjusted our room type even though I had booked through a third-party site, which most hotels won’t do. Her kindness made check-in stress-free. Arion made our anniversary feel special! The hotel was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the shower had great water pressure. Every staff member we met was friendly and professional. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant and sat at the bar—Juan, the bartender, provided fantastic service and the food and drinks were excellent. The location was perfect for visiting Kykuit, Lyndhurst, Union Church, and Washington Irving’s home, and we felt completely safe with our car on the property. I felt truly welcomed as a guest and would gladly stay here again and recommend the Sleepy Hollow Hotel!

Unfortunately besides checking out, the initial welcome and location was the only enjoyable things.

Initially we had a lovely experience checking in and once hearing it was our 20th wedding anniversary, they sent us a complimentary bottle of Prosecco. So lovely! Until we got to the room... it was sorely in need of updates and repairs. It feels like they updated in the 90's and haven't bothered much since. There was mold growing in the bathroom, the lock on the balcony door didn't work, and the bathroom door was actually rotting from the bottom up and the shower had no scald guard for our children. When we travel we try so hard to keep our dollars local so we chose this hotel over the chain hotels but we regret doing that. We stayed three nights and our last night was the absolute worst. Booming music from a party until after 11pm with a flight home at 6am... reception answered our call once and then it all went to voicemail. The entire trip we felt like they just wanted our money and honestly, it really tainted our trip. My wife is a huge Sleepy Hollow fan and you only get one 20th wedding anniversary. Very poor.

I loved the air freshener. It was pleasant and not overwhelming and it made me relax as i walked in.

We loved our stay at the Sleepy Hollow Hotel so much! The staff at the front desk was very friendly and I loved that you can communicate questions via text during your stay. We had a patio room which was great to just sit outside at night - beds were very comfortable and room was spotless. Will be back again!

It was a convenient place to stay.

Since you enter that door, the peaceful environment inside the lobby is unique, the area smells amazing, clean and attentive personel in the desk. The rooms the same, clean, smelling good. The surrounding area is delightful, I really recommend it 100%
