I was received a disable access room with no explanation. Tried to contact the reception to change one but they said no. Very uncomfortable living experience.

"Weekend break"

8.0

The accommodation was good but we wouldn’t class it as luxury as there was absolutely no WiFi in the cottage at all despite being told that there was. The cottage was in good order but was not as clean as it could have been with a mark on the floor near the dining room table, a fruit shoot lid behind the curtain and my daughters bedding smelling damp.

"Not bad but could be better in places."

6.0

The setting of the Lakes Rookley is lovely, with the lake in the centre and water sports available (at an additional cost). The caravan was quite new however wasn’t as clean as I’d have liked especially during these Covid times (in their defence they had been affected by the “pingdemic” and had a number of cleaning staff isolating). The two pools were nice but small. Booking system in place allowed for 3 families in each pool however at times people didn’t leave at the end of their slot and I wouldn’t want to have seen what it was like without the booking system and more people in the pools as it would be very busy and not much room I suspect. The bar and restaurant closed at 9pm each night (but early for a bar in our opinion) and on the one night we went to go to the restaurant at 7pm, it was closed for some unknown reason. Bit of a mixed bag really, not bad but not fantastic either. Wouldn’t pay high season rates to stay again to be honest. It was very hot when we were there and the caravan was unbearably hot, we asked if they had any fans to use and were told there were none and others had been asking, in the end we went and bought our own as otherwise it would have been awful (the weather is not their fault at all but some access to fans would have been nice for the price we paid as would a hairdryer)

"Tranquil and comfortable - loved it"

10.0

What a lovely break! My sister and I and the dog thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet, the beautifully kept park with its' lakes and the well equipped and cozy cottage with hot tub. Great location to get all over the IOW. Don't forget to pack tea towels and washing up liquid or tablets ( there's even a dishwasher!). Also cloths for the washing up/ wiping down surfaces. Everything else is there really - salt and pepper useful to take and a few basics for cooking - but all the equipment was fine. The beds were comfy too. Internet and 4g poor - usually you'd be able to sit up in the bar but of course with Covid not so easy. But all in all a lovely spot , and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it .

"not so clean stat"

Bearing in mind the current situation we would have expected the accommodation to be clean. Instead there was a stain on the sofa, dusty cobwebs everywhere & dirty kitchen utensils. When reported they didn’t seem to understand our concerns

"Friendly staff but very small caravan. "

6.0

Check in was 1.5 hours late as house keeping were not finished which i dint really think is acceptable so wasnt a great start. The caravan we stayed in was clean enough but very small and had to wait nearly 2 days for housekeeping to put a bulb in the ensuite. We booked Lakes Rookley for the swimming pool but didnt use it as it was booked up solid. Probably needed to investigate that before arrriving but wasnt given much notice. Overall, we had fun as a family but may not stay at this resort again as we have found Wooton Bridge Hoseasons a more pleasant experience.

Fantastic holiday park, quieter than most and looking new. Lovely pools, well managed in lockdown. Good location for accessing the whole island.
