"Want to be in a great spot but not RIGHT IN the action of Daytona Beach? Hard to beat this spot."

It would be really difficult to have a better location for a hotel than The Shores. Located right on the beach with beach car access NEXT DOOR. Cool! What I really liked about the location was that it was on the beach but away from the hectic nature of Daytona Beach proper but if you wanted to join the action its only a mile or two away. Also has a good pool and hot tub with excellent views of the ocean and beach. The rooms themselves, while older in nature, were well taken care of. No maintenance issues noticed while we were there.

Does show it's age a bit at times. Having to pay $32 for parking that's on the other side of the street is a tad silly (though I did like the skybridge they built over the road to get to the hotel without crossing the road frogger-style). All the customer service in relation to dining (both room and poolside) I wouldn't describe as "great". Fine but could be faster. Led to a couple "luke-warm" food situations. But honestly not much to complain about. Was a fantastic stay.

We stayed at the shores because we came to town to visit a member of the Tortugas baseball team coaching staff & to attend a couple of games. We found the hotel very nice, the food very good & the staff very friendly. Michelle at the front desk welcomed us as if we were personal friends, the valet staff were always friendly & helpful & Beooke in the dining room waited on us several times & was always very friendly & sweet.

Great pool, beautiful ocean views. Employees are very sweet and attentive.

The elevators were a big problem. There was only at one point 2 working elevators. So it became extremely congested and you would have to wait to quite a while to be able to get onto one.
