Caribe Hilton

This trip was a girls trip to celebrate some significant birthdays. The first impression of this hotel was that it was beautiful. Right on the water, open-air lobby, kind staff, just a lovely place. Then we got to our room. A lot of peeling paint, baseboards with chunks out of them, and the carpet was not good at all. The front desk made it right and moved us to another room with a King bed and a pull-out. It was fine, but for the prices it was just manageable. The pools are great, the private beach area was so nice with lots of little areas to relax. The pool bar was the place to be though! Ricardo was fantastic, a true asset to the hotel and the Hilton brand. He gave us a ton of suggestions of places to see and things to do. He was really a standout for our trip. This hotel has a crazy amount of potential, however, until they meet that potential, they really need to price their rooms accordingly.

I had an amazing stay at the Caribe Hilton and can honestly say it was my best stay in San Juan ever. From the moment I arrived, every staff member I encountered was kind, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. A special shout-out to my housekeeper, Sondra M., who kept my room spotless and well-stocked throughout my stay. Her attention to detail and friendly demeanor really added to the comfort of my visit. I stayed in the Wave Tower and loved waking up each morning to a beautiful view of the ocean and historic Fort Gerónimo right from my room. It was the perfect backdrop for coffee on the balcony and relaxing downtime. On the grounds, I especially enjoyed the peaceful tropical gardens and quiet time on the beach. The property offers plenty of spots to unwind, read, or just listen to the waves, which made the resort feel like a calm oasis. I also want to highlight the Cookies and Ice Cream shop, which felt like a hidden gem on the property. They have great sandwiches and coffee in addition to their delicious ice cream, and it quickly became one of my favorite places to grab a bite. I highly recommend Caribe Hilton and look forward to returning on my next trip to San Juan. ***

The location is very convenient. I loved staying here. The only problem was the noise level, but everyone was very kind and had a 10/10 service level. I was welcomed by Kamil who was super kind and sent us a bell man, David who was also very kind. Our best experience was at the pool bar that was a 5/5 stars ⭐️ with Hiram Avila. He was kind, gave us great recommendations, was so sweet and made us want to stay at the pool bar for hours. He is definitely the best bar tender service I’ve experience. My husband and I were so happy. Muchísimas gracias Hiram 🇵🇷 ¡Que viva Puerto Rico!

There are some things the hotel gets right. The pool and beach area are truly lovely as is the lush garden with a pond and water feature. The hotel was clean and well tended, cleaning and grounds staff clearly do an excellent job. The reception staff were very professional and good communicators. The 24 hour cafe had delicious smoothies. The rest was average or below average. The room I stayed on the 1st floor of garden wing had walls so thin I could hear the people in the next door room clearly. That area of the Garden wing was clean but dingy which is a shame because the gardens are right outside your door. Lastly, Ocean restaurant is overpriced had average food and had very poor service. I didn't have breakfast or eat at any of the other restaurant at the hotel choosing to eat in Old San Juan instead. I wouldn’t stay again the value for amount spent just isn’t there.

Once a premier hotel in SanJuan is now dated and worn with poor service. Rooms have broken tiles, bathrooms with stains and chips and no USB ports only outlets and not enough for contemporary needs. The room rates vary depending on hotel occupancy and caters to large conference groups who get a locked in discounted room rate, and then the hotel passes on those costs to individual guests. We stayed in the same room for six nights: Thursday $441; Friday 527; Saturday $549; Sunday $565; Monday $771; Tuesday $750. Their response to any inquiries about this is simply to reiterate their policy rather than respond to guest needs. They blame you for not reading the policy and assuming the rate would be the same once booked. It is all about the hotel and not you as the guest. Beware. Breakfast is the same every day. Not much else in the area so you have to go off the resort for dining as it is limited. Service varies although our cleaning lady was excellent and one waiter at the restaurant. Know that there are other much better hotels in San Juan without this kind of variance and for less money that are far better. I had stayed in the hotel about 10 years ago for a conference which is why I thought it would be a good place for my team and I to stay as we scouted hotels for a planned 2027 conference. This hotel is the bottom of the list of four that we saw.

This was our first time here and everyone was excellent it’s everything you’d expect from a Hilton location But we have to give an extra Shout out to IVAN y the beach and poolside ,he made sure we were comfortable and was very attentive making sure we were hydrated,he truly was a great person to have there when you needed someone ,every Hilton shield have an Ivan he definitely is a great asset to the Hilton thank you again Ivan we will definitely be back and look for you ,you made our stay very memorable

Hotel room was very run down and dirty. There was visible dust everywhere and mold in the tub. TV was broken for the first 2 nights. We were told we would have a 100$ a night credit for those 2 nights. I’ve yet to get that and I’ve called and messaged multiple times. It was SO loud at night, we did not sleep for 7 days. There was some type of construction maybe or repairs happening and I guess they thought it was a good idea to work on them overnight? We were woken up all night to very loud banging sounds. There was a rusty open vent in the balcony which was gross and dangerous and our beach view the booking listed, well see the pics...ocean is beautiful but the roof is not and should have been listed as partial view not beach view. Oh and forget using the restroom in private, the door doesn’t close all the way. Food is way overpriced. Beach is nice and private. Staff were all nice. But the room was awful we had and the noise was even worse.
