Hilton Palm Beach PBI

Checked in afternoon of June 15th, no particular issues. Planned on working from my room during the day(16th). At about 9:30am I began to hear various tapping noises and by noon it was full on hammer drill and sledge hammer type very loud noises, often shaking and vibrating my floor, ceiling and walls. Called front desk to report the issue and was told construction would continue until 3:00pm and was told it was on all floors and no compensation would be made. Asked to speak with a manager and was told very sternly that no manager was on site. Now I have had to cancel multiple conference/ video calls and the construction noise has continued past 4:30pm. No where or at any time were we notified of the construction activity scheduled for this time. Just an FYI stayed at a Marriott in the area the previous night, had trouble with the A/C in the room. They bent over backwards to make it right immediately. I will not be giving Hilton my business in the future!

The maintenance was unbearable. They should’ve closed the room if they knew it to be that loud.

The hotel is outdated. It’s not terrible but a bad first impression and really uncomfortable space in the main lobby. The couches and chairs are fabric and they’re filthy. When your flight arrives early and it’s not time to check in there’s no place comfortable to sit given the quality of the lobby furniture. The check-in process was disorganized. There were several of us as part of a larger group who arrived earlier than the check-in time. That’s understandable that a room wouldn’t be ready immediately. However, as rooms were cleaned, guests were not notified and allowed to check in. Finally at 4 PM when several people approached the desk there were finally rooms available leaving a chaotic check-in for many people. The real complaint came Sunday morning May 31. At 8 AM there was loud banging and hammering with construction on many floors. The front desk was unable to ask them to stop, and she was only empowered to notify her manager Murat Ozyalcin who was not on site and who only reported to the front desk that he told them to stop. They were supposed to start at 11 and they never stopped. I attempted to contact the manager directly and his voicemail box was full. I called back during the week and the front desk told me he was off. I left a message asking him to call me. I never received a call. Ultimately, I called Hilton Honors customer service and also did not get any response from the local hotel today is June 6 and I purposefully waited this long to give a review to see if anyone from the local hotel made any effort to contact me with any explanation, apology, or statement that perhaps they would empower the front desk with training on how to better manage check-in and control unexpected circumstances like construction that started earlier than expected.
