Motel 9 University-Downtown

The staff where extremely friendly, the room was clean, and housekeeping was very polite. I did not experience any trouble with the deposit not being handed over and check out was very smooth. I booked this place on a budget and honestly it was better then expected. The pool was gross and I wouldn’t advice swimming in it but let’s be honest who was going to use it anyways.

This is one below bad. As starters: Microwave and coffee maker didn’t work. Overwhelming sewer smell, room wasn’t made two days, roaches (Roachway Inn), toilet was in a filthy condition to say the least (Check my picture). On my last day I was loading my car, next to my room, and suddenly a transient was trying to enter my room, obviously I kindly asked him to do the right thing before I kicked the hell out of him. Of course, I complained every day, and of course they apologized, promised a discount, promised to fixed things and guess what: Nothing happened. On my last day this young unprofessional and super rude lady told me that my $50 dollar deposit (ON MY CREDIT CARD) would take SEVEN DAYS to be credited back. Stay away from this place, IF YOU HAVE BOOKED, CANCEL. I should have trusted my instinct and reviews, but location convenience got me bad, I attended a University of Texas Austin Program for a week. Don’t take me wrong, in last two months, because of my job, I’ve stayed in more than a dozen freeway side motels in California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas.

The pictures were very inviting, After booking with a No refund policy. The Lobby pictures were definitely filtered. The pool was Green and unusuable. The room I was put in had just been repaired from a breakin Missing fire extinguisher from outside box and the room was missing the smome alarm.

Basic budget hotel located near UT and I35. If you're looking for a getaway with friends or family, this is not the place. Located adjacent to freeway with noise 24 hours a day. Front desk is not the friendliest. Wifi is basically nonexistent or too slow to open an email

Very bad hotel, did not like me, I never return there

It was my first experience of staying at a motel. From outside the hotel looked kind of old but the room was great; except for a little odor.However, I had to check out a day early and had no option of refund :( (which was the only downside!)

I'm world traveler and after staying in so many hotels,hostels,guest houses in the world this is first time when you check out to have someone coming with you in the room and checked detail to detail how you left the room.The lady who check my room took oneof the small towel that i was using for washing my face and since there was some make up powder on the towel she told me that she need to charge me from the deposit for that.Too bad i didn't take picture to see how the towel was looking so you can judge if i need to be charge or no.That towel cost like $2 new and i couldn't believe what she is saying.Like really if you charge people for that at least i will take that towel with me or don't put towels in room at all.WTF.She said that the owner its all the money. Btw there is smell in the room since the hotel is old.The toilet top was broken and there is no housekeeping to clean the room the next day.Be sure to check the room once you check in just in case they blame you for something later in the room.

The location was great, staff were friendly, room was clean. I thought we might have a problem with sounds from the freeway but NOT at all. Thank you Roadway Inn.

I cancelled and need my money back, they tried to give me a total used not made ready room , change me to another and the plumbing was backing up sewer water
