I woke up with bedbug bites all over my lower legs. What a mess!

We were in town for a family funeral and stayed for three nights. Overall, our experience was just okay, with a few notable points: The hotel definitely showed its age. The carpets were dirty, the bathroom fixtures were old and worn, and the shampoo and body wash bottles were nearly empty. Woke up, left, the housekeeping staff came, but they didn’t make the beds for some reason. I didn't mention it at the time. On the second night, I had spilled some food on my bed and assumed they would change the bedding. Nope! The beds remained untouched. I called the front desk, and a staff member apologized and offered to supply fresh sheets and blankets if I came down to collect them. I refused. I expect a full-service hotel to handle that without me needing to retrieve bedding myself. Eventually, they sent a housekeeper to my room to change the sheets and make the beds. While I waited, I checked reviews on several sites, and noticed others had the same issues. Which is how I learned about the planned renovation in 2026 (responses to reviews from the hotel!) The following day, I called to request that the beds be made. I don’t need a complete change of sheets daily, but I expected them to notice an obvious spill and replace the sheets on that bed. I bought a box of sanitizing wipes because the room surfaces felt unclean. On a positive note, the air conditioning worked well. Breakfast was decent, although it cost an extra $20 per night to have it "included". It is not free. The pool was sparkling clean and well-maintained. The lounge chairs at the pool were torn and ragged. Both treadmills in the fitness center were “Out of Order”. Overall not terrible, since the location was central to where we needed to be for the funeral and family gatherings. Although renovations are allegedly planned, there is no excuse for dirty carpets, and the disaster that is housekeeping.

We were in town visiting friends, so just needed a landing pad, a place to hang out to recharge when we needed a break from visiting, and a good shower. The pool looked great, even though we didn't have a chance to use it. Would love to have a voucher for a meal other than breakfast, as we are not big breakfast earers. Our room was clean and had everything we needed. The bed was not the most comfortable, but was fine for three nights. Would stay again.
