Obviously an older motel that has had a wonky facelift. The entry doors are not automatic, we fumbled with arms full of luggage to get inside. Entry carpet dirty. Confusion at check in, clerk wasn’t running my card properly. Room looked like a travel lodge from the 70s. Don’t fall for the hipster vibe on the website. That is not the feel of this place. We’ve stayed in Highlands many times. For what you pay to stay at Trailborn you can easily find a nicer option at a better value.

Poor beds, cheap carpet, dirty facilities

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for our anniversary. The front desk went out of their way to leave us a handwritten card and provided a complimentary bottle of wine. The room was very clean and comfortable. We were provided with lots of information on amenities and activities to do in Highlands. The hotel was also as close as it gets to downtown. Thank you so much for an incredible stay!

The staff was very friendly, the hotel itself was pretty, the outdoor area looked very hospitable, but the beds in the room were horribly uncomfortable! They sagged on both ends, and it made for a very sleepless night.
