many aspects of this hotel are delightful in terms of them updating the facility. Sadly the mattress was lumpy and the pillows hard. The room was clean but with no comfortable chairs it was not conducive to relaxation. A good effort with a few more tweaks and it could be quite nice. The couples package and acknowledgement of special occasion was well done.

Very cozy, peaceful atmosphere and very nice amenities

My husband & I chose Trailborn Highlands because it was a Marriott. My husband has stayed at Marriott for 20+ years, Gold Elite. I disagree that Trailborn Highlands meets the standards of a True Marriott. The front desk said it was recently renovated (8 months ago) I asked if that included the bathrooms which she said yes. The common area & outdoor deck was nicely decorated. The room itself was extremely disappointing. First, there is not closet only a coat rack which was limited, especially since coats and jackets are thick so you could only hang a few. There is not a dresser unless you consider drawer under a bench a place to store your close. Luckily, we only stayed one night. I'm not sure how you would manage staying multiple nights. The bathroom had broken tile pieces as well as multiple areas of what looked like black mold in the grout. There is only one light and fan in the bathroom oppose to having one light for the shower and one for the vanity.

Before arriving in Highlands my daughters and I searched for pet friendly hotels. This hotel was very charming and had affordable pricing for literally sleeping and showering since we were so busy during the day. We were very pleased with the entire experience. The staff were all so nice and the rooms were incredibly clean. The dog friendly room had no dog smell at all. Beds were very comfy and the bathrooms were roomy. If this wasn’t enough the location could not have been more perfect. We could walk to Main St to have dinner and do some shopping. The only thing we were surprised about was there was no iron, ironing board or closet in the room. This wasn’t a problem for us but could be for other travelers. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this hotel. Happy Travels Sherett

Hotel is very nice. Decorated beautifully. Rooms are very clean. Beds are comfortable. Staff was so friendly. We will definitely stay here again.

The ambience is reminiscent of Dirty Dancing, in all the best ways. The location is close to everything and you feel relaxed as soon as you enter. Morning coffee and breakfast bread is a treat and all of the little extras make everyone feel special. Every time I came into the lobby there were people playing backgammon or checkers, reading in one of the nooks or quietly chatting with a glass of wine. The goodies in the room are the best I've seen and the fireplaces in some rooms complete the cozy feel. This isn't the "fancy" place, this is the "warm and cozy" spot you want to relax. When you walk into your room, the retro radio is tuned into 1960's music. The beverage bar has the best selection of treats, teas and goodies I have seen at any hotel, anywhere. I have stayed in hotels in Aspen, Vail, the East Coast and Florida.. Bed and Breakfasts and 5 star....this place rates at the very top.... I wouldn't change a thing - the staff is amazing and the location is perfect. Great restaurants and shopping very close by.

We really enjoyed that the property was kid and pet-friendly, and conveniently located near the main street in Highlands.

Communication could have been better. We reached out over 6 weeks in advance to explain that two of the five rooms booked will need a bath tub. These two rooms were for children under 5 and the rest of the rooms, including the room with the dogs, would be for adults and a bathtub was not required. We received confirmation via email that this would be accommodated. Upon check-in, there was only one room with a bath available, and it was the adult dog room (explicitly noted as a room that didn't need one). They said they had no record of this even with the email/confirmation in writing on my end. The bathtub in that room didn't drain very well so it was not usable for the kids or a great experience for the adults. There were also some issues with check-out and how payment processes with Booking.com that were overall inconvenient and not worth booking through the app.
