Planters Inn - Charleston

Great southern feel to the property. Bed was super comfortable and slept well.

Parking sucked but that’s downtown Charleston. Unauthorized authorization “holds” on card that property never could substantiate. I had to call corporate days later to have them investigate before the incorrect hold would be released. A total of $1460 was “held” and out of my account for a $582 total stay. And the property still wanted the $582 to check out. A total of $2000 taken out of an account at one time for a $582 stay is ridiculous and never was an apology given by the manager that an unauthorized hold of $782 was done to begin with. It made for a financially stressful trip and only got my stressful once I got home to a winter storm and had to straighten out finances and contact corporate to rectify things.

Great location and quaint historic hotel! The staff was very helpful. The Peninsula Grill is a great dining experience and definitely order the Ultimate Coconut Cake!

Every staff at the hotel were very welcoming and supportive. Not to mention the beautiful architecture and great location. Room was kept very clean and comfortable. Highly recommend this place. I wish I went there with my loved ones(it was a business trip).

I have stayed at the Planters Inn before and this time was no different - it is a wonderful place! The staff are friendly and accommodating. Special thanks to the Manager Coleen who upgraded my room, to Cole, Pam and Korey, the super bartender. The food is delicious. The friends I was visiting claim that the Planters grits are some of the best they have had in Charleston. So are the breakfast omelets and biscuits. The location is superb, you can walk everywhere. I look forward to another stay before long!

Planters Inn is a fine southern hotel with impeccable service. I’m sad to report that the pheasant at the Peninsula Grill was hopelessly over salted. Likely a very rare occurrence.

Excellent staff, location and room. Staff was attentive and very respectful. The room was perfect and quiet. Location was excellent also. We only spent one night there but would definitely come back!

Stayed at The Planters Inn a few years ago and loved it. Location is ideal and I love the architecture. However this time it seemed as though management and staff training is slipping. Some of the website info is incorrect - champagne bar, entertainment in the bar. Upon arrival we noticed there was only 2 towels no wash cloths, hand towels , etc. It took 3 times of asking for towels. I do love this inn - I hate seeing it not maintain the quality and posture that brought us there again. Not sure about next time.
