My wife is handicapped and has trouble walking. The service of sending a wheelchair and a person to push it to transport us from our room to the pickup point was greatly appreciated. The breakfasts were excellent, and the service was also great. The House keeper was so helpful and I would like to single her out for the time she spent helping me and my wife find our room. She wrote her name down but I can't find the note she gave me. Thank you for a wonderful three days.

"Old, worn and expensive"

4.0

Disappointed in Mission Point Resort. 4th time visiting Mackinac, first time at this resort. Place is worn, needs updating. Room keys are still brass metal (who does that anymore?). Lodge for rooms is far from main building, lobby, restaurants and you have to drag your bags over pavers, broken concrete areas. Only one pool for the entire resort. Its undersized and is full of small children, families so hard to use. Restaurants were expensive, service was only so-so. You have to walk to town or pay $10 each way for horse taxi. Nice lakeside setting but beach is very rocky, can't walk in the water. We love Mackinac but will NOT stay here again.

"Good location, poor air conditioning"

4.0

The room itself was clean, comfortable, and had a nice setup. However, the air conditioning was a big issue during my stay. The unit was extremely loud, ran constantly through the night, and unfortunately didn’t cool the room at all. It made it difficult to sleep and really took away from what could have been a great stay. The front desk stated that every room had these portable air conditioners. I will not be back.

"My Favorite Trip so Far! Mission Point and Mackinac Island"

10.0

Absolutely WONDERFUL trip! Mission Point Resort is a beautiful historic inn on Mackinac Island. The staff was friendly, the food was excellent, and the views spectacular! If you ever stay at the resort, please do yourself a favor and take the History tour. Pat is very knowledgeable of the history of the resort, the island and all else! She was a pleasure! If you are a fan of the movie "Somewhere In Time" .... part of this was filmed right there in the resort. The theater is so quaint and there is a chair in the fourth row with a plaque on it that refers to where "Richard Collier" aka Christopher Reeve, sat when "Elise McKenna" aka Jane Seymour, told him she loved him. (Only SIT fans will know what I'm talking about)! The soundstage was also used to film scenes. The Grand Hotel was used as the main backdrop of the movie. The downtown area of Mackinac island is just adorable! I wish I could live there. The old Victorian homes are beautiful. The people are friendly and the shopping and food are fantastic. If you've ever thought about going to Mackinac Island, please put it up high on your list and stay at Mission Point Resort. Unless you can afford the "Grand Hotel" lol. Mission Point is a nice choice. The only drawback about the resort was it was probably the farthest hotel out from downtown. You can walk if you want, its about 15 minutes to downtown, but the weather didn't really cooperate when we were there. The horse carriage shuttle is 18.00 per couple - so $20 bucks with tip each time you go into town. Also take a tour of the island in the horse drawn carriages. There is a small booth in the center of town where you can buy tickets. I just wish they would have let us stop at the Grand Hotel to get out and look around - but we did ride past it and saw many other interesting parts of the island. We did actually get to see the Grand Hotel another time ($12.00 each for adults to get in...it's so worth it!) The highest temp on the island during the summer is usually 80 degrees. It was 60s/70s when we were there in AUGUST. Thought we'd be using the pool, but didn't. There was plenty else to do so it didn't matter. Rent bikes and travel around the island. It's mostly flat (a few hills). This trip is now checked off of my bucket list! :)

We loved our stay at Mission Point Resort. The location was perfect - about a 10-15 minute walk into downtown but far enough away where it was very private and quiet. The amenities were also great - we took advantage of the bike rentals, pool, fitness center, and on-site restaurants for breakfast and lunch. Highly recommend for anyone visiting the island!

"Spectacular Getaway @Mission Point"

10.0

Everyone is super nice and friendly and the road to Mission Point is spectacular tree lined path & flowers ! We brought our bikes, so we hopped on & rode right there - but there's a horse taxi to take you there as well. Many places to dine right on the property & even a little place to play put put golf. There are chairs on the lawn to relax in at the end of the day. The whole Mackinac Island experience was spectacular - we can't wait to come back !! PS. Reservations include the luggage transfer right there too - so you can enjoy your day right as you arrive !

"Frigid pool"

8.0

Pool was frigid! My kids thought Lake Huron was warmer. It was hard to get in. The two hot tubs only held 4 people. It would be nice if spot to sit outside by rooms instead of having to walk all way down. It seemed like missed opportunity to have yard games- bags, bocce, croquet etc. Not many classes actually offered during wk for kids and families. We ran out of things to do there. Was often a 20 minute wait to get coffee in morning at Boxwood. No place to fill water bottles on site. It would be nice if ventilation in bathrooms. Not a lot of bike options for kids- had a hard time finding ones right size for my kids. On cold, rainy days it would be nice if they could have turned on fire places in lobby when guests played games there.
