Holiday Inn Swindon by IHG

The hotel didnt have our booking, if we never had a physical copy of the booking.com letter we wouldnt have had a change of getting our room. We had to pay twice and wait for a refund of one payment.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Place was clean and facilities were good.

We had a family room for 4. 2 adults, 2 teenagers. There was 1 double bed and 1 pull out sofa bed that was smaller than a double so, one of the kids ended up sleeping on the floor instead as the pull out bed was too small to fit 2 people.

Quiet & relatively clean (apart from dust on the coffee machine)

Rooms: We got the top premium double room, yet it felt cramped and did not even have a sofa as advertised. It was set out as a single room with one chair, one towel, one kitkat in the fridge, & the TV did not even turn on. Nearby activities: Nothing. Safety: Not that safe as staff are not really around much. Example, we needed to look for someone, to seat us at a table for both dinner and breakfast. That should be someone at the station at all times. So if people can just wander around with no staff really present, I would not call this safe. Walkability: Pretty free flowing. Long corridors, with small double doors rather than a normal door which is a hindrance. Food and drinks: Food & drink was decent. 7/10 (Tuna steak was overcooked & dry, so could have been cooked better or dress with a sauce so you can actually swallow it.) Noteworthy details: Can't share a sauna with your wife, as they are in separate changing rooms. Lockers need upgrading, so you do not need to carry a pound coin, I've been to lots of other hotels & they just have keypads or wristbands that do not require a pound coin. Especially in this nearly cashless society (even including their own bar, that was not accepting cash.!)

Good location

Poor ventilation. Air conditioning not working. Toilet not working and noisy all night. Small uncomfortable bed. Staff unhelpful/poorly trained. Received a parking fine.

Wonderful stay, easy to find and good breakfast, nice restaurant and friendly staff. Was very comfortable

Red flashing light on telephone for room orders, had to hide it under the bed

Didn't see any elevators so it was a bit inconvenient to go up with our buggy.

Staff was very friendly especially the receptionist. Room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable I will definitely return

Staff; friendly, flexible and helpful. Although unused by us there were fitness facilities. Remarkably quiet considering the location - arterial roads nearby. Good value as a stepping stone into tourists routes and destinations

Corridors were a bit malodorous in places, however there does some maintenance in progress
