Best Western Auburn/Opelika Inn

Nice, clean hotel with a great breakfast and friendly staff. Comfortable stay and good location. Would stay again.

The cleaness

This reception wasn’t even trying to warm. The day of the checkout around 9 o’clock, I forgot to put the hinge back on the housekeeping, just opened the door and came in. They act like they didn’t know. I was still in there if the checkout time is 11 if the front desk didn’t give them the signal good to clean why would they just come into my room? And around 1020 I was taking a bath put the hinge back on someone opened the room again that was the most disrespectful moment when I called the front desk she just simply told me she would tell them to leave me alone. This is not a single incident. It’s your hotel policy. She just act like she’s so intimidated. Wouldn’t you be upset when you pay for the hotel and somebody constantly trying to get you out of the room? Very disappointing experience!!!!

I was traveling into town to play golf at the Grand National RTJ resort. I arrived the night before and instead of paying $300+ for a night at the resort I found Best Western for under $100. Arrived and VJ took care off me and got me in a room in less than 10 min. room was clean, bed comfortable, shower great. Got a good night sleep relaxed a little in the morning after a long drive. Went to the front desk where Van took care of me. She said grab some coffee which i did and was on my way. Thanks Van

I'd like to give this BW a 3.5 if I could, but let's go with a 4. I love staying at Best Western's because I generally know what the franchise is like and what to expect. The prices were fair and the ratings good so I booked here for a four day stay in Auburn/Opelika. We had family nearby we were visiting and the location was excellent for getting around town. The room was a great size and clean, however turndown service was lacking. Twice we had someone come in to empty trash and put in fresh towels, but the bedding was never changed or made during our stay. We had to go up to the front desk a few times to ask for items we needed - they were accommodating but some of those trips could have been avoided if housekeeping had come in. Towels were pretty thin. The bed sagged a little in the middle but not tooooo badly. We could hear one set of neighbors, but otherwise heard very little interior noise. You WILL hear a train in the distance from time to time, but I find that sound soothing. lol The pool was not open yet - it was warm when we visited but still spring time and they may not open the pool until later, hotter months. Now, the only truly disappointing part of the stay was the breakfast. This is one area where BW has always done well in my stays with them over the years at different locations. NOT this one. The 'warm' part of the breakfast was either room temperature or cold. The sausage was scary looking, shriveled up and old. Both of us passed on eating that. There's no carafe of water, so if you want a drink that isn't coffee, you must have juice. I believe there was some milk because they did offer cereal. Their bread products were good. For some reason this particular BW's breakfast fell far short of what other's have. The front desk people were very nice and professional. Hope this helps you decide on a hotel stay!

The shower head was a little broken the water was going everywhere and they pool wasn’t open! Also no elevator so we had to walk up and down the stairs all weekend which wasn’t to bad because they only have two floors but trying to carry your stuff up and down the stairs is a pain! Also my carpet had like a big burnt stain and the curtains either had hard lotion all over it or other😬 Hopefully lotion! Room 215…

Inexpensive, good features

First the location is great. The first morning we tried to eat breakfast there, there was one piece of sausage and no milk. We got frustrated and left. The second morning, we were earlier and they had both sausage and milk even though I thought the sausage was terrible. The towels in this place could not be any thinner. And the toilets are so low, I could hardly get up and down. And I had to hold the handle down for quite a while to get it to flush properly. The walls are so thin that you could hear lots of conversations and the people walking upstairs. There was really nothing I liked about the hotel. It was clean...that's about it.
