Upon arrival the staff were quite rude and ignored us at the check in desk for a while. Upon entering our room on the. 5th floor (a premium room) we noticed the shower screen was very mouldy, the shower was broken and flooded the bathroom upon use, the towels had holes in them and the robes were torn. Upon reporting this to reception when we came back to the room nothing had changed. I asked at reception only to be told the room was fine even when I showed the photo of the mould I was told this was to be expected as the hotel is old!! I asked to move rooms and we were offered a smaller room on the 5th floor. No offer of help to move our luggage and we felt like a nuisance. The new room was slightly better but the window was broken as was the light switch. The next day we were offered another move having reported the situation to Trailfinders with whom we booked. The room on the 3rd floor we finally ended up in was better. However why did it take Trailfinders intervention to secure a room of proper standard? The hotel is old yes but dirty carpets and mould are not part of the aging process !! The location and breakfast were great

Excellent location, ideal for short city break

The breakfasts were good. The location was excellent.

Over the past 22 years we always stay here on our regular visits to Nice because it is simply the best hotel in Nice. Staff are always friendly & helpful. The location is great, only minutes away from the Old Town, restaurants, market, beach & Place Massena with good tram links. The rooms are modern and comfortable, the bathrooms are stylish with plenty of room for toiletries by the sink. Regular towel/sheet changes. Very good continental selection at breakfast. The small sundeck and small pool open 10 until 5 pm. (pool is small but lovely to refresh in) with lunch available in the day, then it changes into a bar/restaurant with stunning views in the evening of Nice. I would recommend a room on the 6th floor with a park view, as these rooms have balconies overlooking the Old Town and distant views of the sea. There is public underground car parking in Place Massena with the entrance literally yards away from the hotel.

It was reasonably centrally located.

On arrival we did not have the requested twin beds. Housekeeping came and rectified this but it should not have happened The wardrobe was unusable as the door was broken. We reported this and were told someone would come to repair it. They did as we were in the shower. They said they would come back ,- they didn’t. The tap on the sink broke. ,- no one came to repair it. Basically the room should not have been allocated to a guest until these issues had been remedied .
