Great hotel!

Every angle from this location had a beautiful view. I also cannot compliment the staff enough. Very friendly, accommodating and helpful. We spent half of our honeymoon here and had every intention of venturing out each day… but the resort was so beautiful we ended up dedicating multiple days just hanging out at the pool and beach. 10 out of 10! I hope we can make the trip back someday.

This hotel is beautiful. Its well taken care of and the staff is very polite and friendly. Security is there to make sure only hotel guests use the pool (always wear your wristband). The pool is much bigger than it seems from the pictures and the beach is only steps away. We went back and forth from pool to beach all day. The beach has soft, smooth sand, not rocky at all. There are sure lessons onsite. My daughters took a lesson and loved it. Several food options, although they are hotel prices. There is a small market that is walkable if you need something. would highly recommend.

Hotel was fine, dated however. Room Was clean upon arriving but then w room Service every other day and trips to the beach the room gets dirty quickly. Not a fan of room Service, we ordered dinner one night and they brought it in a paper bag, disposable containers, etc. pretty sure it was bought at an outside restaurant and uncharged after that. Then to top it off a dead cockroach (yes a cockroach) was found in the room. We were Staying on the 6th floor so not even ground level. It took me 2-3 calls to get “maintenance” (who had better things to do on a Saturday night, hence the 2-3 phone calls) to come a remove it from the room. The incident would’ve been better tolerated if I didn’t get attitude or at least got an apology from the front desk about it. Never have I found a dead cockroach inside a hotel room. Absolutely disgusting. Won’t be staying at this hotel ever again.

I recently stayed at the Royal Sonesta Hotel, and my experience was quite disappointing. I initially booked a room with a pool view, but the hotel staff suggested upgrading to an ocean view room over the phone. I paid an additional fee expecting a significant improvement in the view. However, when I arrived at the hotel and went to my room, I found that the view was still largely of the pool. From the balcony, I could see a small part of the beach from a corner angle, but it was far from the ocean view I was promised. The staff's description of the room seemed misleading, and I felt misled about what I was paying for. To add to the frustration, when I brought this to the attention of the staff, there was some inconsistency in their response. They initially didn't acknowledge the issue, but later, the reception mentioned that the room type was indeed "ocean view" and offered to upgrade to an "oceanfront" room for an additional fee. Given the significant extra amount I paid for the upgrade, I expected a room that truly lived up to the description. The lack of transparency and consistency in the hotel's communication and room allocation process was disappointing. If you're considering staying at this hotel, I would advise being very clear about what you're booking and perhaps verifying the details in person before making any upgrades or additional payments.
