Winston-Salem Marriott

Convenient location to convention center; very supportive staff.

First night of three reservation was not what I paid for; put in room with only a (uncomfortable) sofa bed. I was comped breakfast throughout my stay, and moved to the type of room I’d booked for the second and third nights, but that first night was extremely uncomfortable.

In town for college tour day with my son. There were many other parents here as well, we all agreed we won’t be back. We were running so late thanks to the restaurant (Butcher & Bull) being so understaffed. When asked to speak to a manager was told there wasn’t one available? The staff were doing all they could. Tiana and Stacey helped us but Tiana seemed to be running the M Club as well back and forth. We watched orders come out ahead of ours, food wasn’t the best either. They were very apologetic for the wait and very kind going above and beyond. Later a manager arrived but he never came over to apologize just walking around not helping his team. A hotel this size should be staffed better and more professional.

Snowed in in early 2026. My valet, Tucker, took exceptional care of me, cleaning my Explorer off and warming it up for me. Thanks!

We stayed at The Marriott Winston Salem while traveling over the holidays. Everything about our stay was pleasant. The staff were great! I felt safe on and around the property. Thanks to Juana G, our room was super clean and comfortable. We arrived later in the evening and had plenty of options for food that was walking distance from the property. We will definitely stay at this Marriott again when traveling to Winston Salem.

Upon checkout, we had to carry all of our luggage down 5 and 6 flights of stairs. They told us that they had 4 trolleys for discharge. Elevators were packed. 45 min wait for luggage trolley and never got one.

I reserved a room at the Marriott Winston-Salem for one night through the Marriott app. My wife and I were on our way to Asheville for New Year’s, and I thought this would be a good stop to explore the area before continuing the trip. We are Titanium Elite members, and I still had a few Suite Night (upgrade) rewards available. After booking, the app wouldn’t allow me to apply the upgrade, so I emailed the hotel to ask if one could still be used. I also mentioned that we were celebrating my wife’s birthday and our 15th anniversary. When we arrived, the front desk associate thanked us for being Titanium Elite and told us she had upgraded our room. She then wished my wife a happy birthday and mentioned she had received my email — which was very much appreciated. The room was an excellent upgrade. It included a small kitchenette, a family room with a couch and large TV, and a dining table that could seat six people. The bedroom was spacious with another TV, and the bathroom was a nice size with a walk-in shower. Everything was very clean and well maintained. The only negatives were related to lighting. The family room could really use more lighting, as there was only one lamp behind the couch. During the day it’s fine with natural light, but at night it felt dim. Also, there is no light switch between the bedroom and bathroom, so we had to leave the shower light on because the hallway to the bathroom is very dark. One nice bonus is an excellent Mexican restaurant located right outside the hotel’s front entrance. The food was very good and made for a convenient dinner option. Overall, a great stay with a fantastic upgrade and attentive service. We would definitely stay here again. Also after returning from dinner we came up to our room and there was a wonderful cheese and meat board on the coffee table with a Happy Birthday card for my wife. Very generous!!

Very clean, good location. Needed a Marriott property on way to CHS and this hotel checked all the boxes.
