Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort - a concept by Hyatt

My family and I have been coming to Hawaiʻi for years. In fact, my wife once lived and worked on Maui at another resort just down the road. We know this island well, and we've been fortunate enough to stay at some incredible properties over the years. But after our first stay at Andaz Maui in 2025, something felt different. This year brought some challenging life circumstances for our family, and when it came time to return to Maui, we weren't looking for adventure, excursions, or a packed itinerary. We were looking for a place where we could simply exhale. A place where we felt comfortable enough to slow down, stay put, and just be together. That's why we chose to spend the first 9 nights of our 14-day trip at Andaz. What we found was far more than a luxury resort. We found aloha. The property is beautiful, the food is fantastic, and the setting is everything you'd expect from Maui. But what made this trip one of the greatest experiences we've ever had in Hawaiʻi—or anywhere—was the people. Every single interaction mattered. From the moment we arrived, the staff invested in us. They learned our names. They learned our daughter's name. They played with her, laughed with her, and made her feel special every single day. More importantly, they genuinely wanted to know us as people. Not because they had to, but because that's who they are. And it wasn't just one exceptional employee. It was everyone. Nelson, Dennis, Angel, Barak, Hollie, Earl, Mason, Teiva, Romeo, (sorry I can’t list everyone) and the entire valet crew became part of our daily routine. By the end of our stay, we weren't greeting staff members—we were greeting friends. The feeling of ʻohana was real, and it's something our family will never forget. The greatest compliment I can give Andaz is this: after countless trips to Hawaiʻi, this wasn't just another vacation. It became one of our favorite travel experiences of all time. Our only mistake was spending 14 days on Maui and only 9 of them at Andaz. To the leadership team: thank you for creating an environment where your people can be themselves, share genuine aloha, and create such meaningful experiences for your guests. That culture is rare, and it shines through in every corner of the resort. Don't change a thing. We'll be back soon—and we can't wait to see our friends again.

A very nice resort with great staff. My only complaint would be that areas of the resort are a bit worn around the edges. Our first impression was the welcoming lounge for changing while waiting for the room. It is quite worn, carpet seemed unclean and it is dark. Also noticed discoloring and chipped tiles in the adult pool. However, our room was in great condition and we liked the layout very much. Be aware that Maui is windy and every day between 2:00 and 5:00 the umbrellas have to come down. This is not a fault of the resort but if you need shade like me the adult pool is probably your best bet. Also, the higher you go the longer it takes the wind to get to you. Enjoyed the live music in the evenings at the lounge/bar and the food portions are very generous. Never had to wait around for bar staff to bring food/drinks to the pool chairs...the bar staff did a great job. Overall very enjoyable.

Stayed a week for our 45th anniversary, amazing experience especially the staff. Had a few early issues settling in but Vicki, the front desk manager quickly addressed all our issues and resolved them! Angel at the front desk helped get us a fantastic room. Breakfast was made even better with Kaitlyn and Jenny welcoming us each morning by name and taking the time getting to know us. Hua was amazing in the courtesy van getting us anywhere we wanted to go. Keanu was so friendly and helpful at the beach for umbrellas and chairs. These people really made the experience something special. We will be back and hope to see everyone again. The Becks!

Beautiful location and great beach. Access to walking path. We loved our stay and are planning to return next year! Perfect view of the ocean from our 5th floor room. Loved how quiet it was on our side above the adult pool.

Great spot, well maintained property and dedicated staff. Our room was well appointed and had a lovely view. It was not clean upon arrival but the staff were very apologetic and worked quickly to remedy the problems.

This was the most incredible stay! I cannot even express how incredibly gorgeous and breathtaking the property is; everywhere you look it is mesmerizing. The staff was top notch, the amenities were so great, and the breakfast was lovely. We looked at many resorts in Wailea and I can confidently say that after staying at the Andaz there is no competition. We even ate at the Four Seasons and were not wowed because we just loved Andaz so much! LOL The only thing we didn’t love was the Alfredo and Parmesan fries at Andaz but everything else was pretty tasty. The room was also fantastic; everything was fully stocked daily if you requested them to service your room. There is even an Ohana lounge after checkout that has showers, complimentary drinks, etc. which was incredible for us! We checked our luggage and enjoyed the property alllll day because of that additional lounge access amenity. Paddle boarding on the ocean and the outrigger was also so cool, and there were so many different options of water equipment that you could easily check out even without booking a session. I have to say this was 10/10 and we have already discussed making Andaz our yearly getaway. It is unmatched. What a perfect and romantic getaway, ugh! I am sooo sad to even leave!

The Andaz Maui is amazing. Friendly staff, beautiful location, delicious breakfast buffet with many selections, lots of activities to do right at the beach... snorkeling, kayak, boogie board, paddleboad and all included. Will definitely return.

Less than helpful front desk staff. It seemed that we were bothering them, rather than being guests. Several times, the staff let out deep sighs when simple questions were asked. This is the same experience we had a year ago, but we thought that this year would be different. Seems not—also, the same staff as last year. Customer service training is recommended.

This is a gorgeous, clean property and our family had a great stay. We stayed for a week with our three sons. The food and drink were better than the other two hotels we visited in Maui. The staff were all friendly and welcoming. Housekeeping was flexible and would often come in the evening if we were in the room in the morning. Would come again.
