Hotel Cleveland Autograph Collection

I ended up working in the bar area the better part of the evening. I was impressed by the attentiveness of the bartender, Michael who would come around to the other side of the bar (even as sole bartender for a while) to ensure I was well taken care of. I travel a lot and this was a rare level of attention and service at a busy hotel bar. I was made to feel very much at home. Look forward to my next visit.

Very pleased with my overall experience. I have stayed at this property monthly since 2019 and truly enjoyed the atmosphere and service throughout. The property is very nice but the staff, attitude, and friendly service are what truly takes this property over the top. I had to take a break during their recent renovations but they were very understanding and I was extremely touched when they welcomed me back after nearly 2 years as if I never left. The renovated property is really wonderfully executed from the rooms to the public spaces and lounge. Now in Fall 2025, I can say that they have surpassed my prior accolades and I am very happy staying at the Hotel Cleveland but would be equally pleased simply spending an evening in their lobby lounge and bar. I have know Dan, a senior bartender, for years and he took the time to introduce me to Judy and Casey who are incredible as well. I could not ask for more. I thought… Tonight, I happened to be served by a bartender I had yet to meet. Michael. He served my drinks and made pleasant conversation with me and all his patrons. My phone happened to be about die and I mentioned it out loud. He whisked away and returned quickly with the cord I needed. I challenged if he had it on hand somewhere or had somehow otherwise quickly found it. To my surprise, he had run to his car and brought it to me. It’s on that charge that I write this review and truly cannot believe we live in a world where this is still possible. Thank you, Marriott, Dan, Casey, July and Michael. From a true Marriott customer for life.

This is my third stay at the Hotel Cleveland and it did not disappoint. I often travel for work so It’s been my home away from home for three different weeks. It’s a beautiful old hotel with modern amenities and a great gym. I really enjoy the restaurant and the staff that have so graciously entertained and fed me on many a night I was too tired to go out. If you’re lucky enough to have Judy as your bartender, you’re sure to have a wonderful evening and some great recommendations on food and drink.

The architecture and design is beautiful.

We had dinner at the restaurant, Maker, and our servers name was Jonathan. We had a great experience because Jonathan was a wealth of knowledge about Cleveland and the hotel. We spent a good amount of time talking with him and it made our trip even more memorable. By the way, the food was fabulous as well. We can’t wait to come back to Cleveland again and spend a little more time exploring.

Had stayed her numerous times while it was a Renaissance Hotel. Even stayed once when it was Stouffer's Inn on the Square (OK, I'm a little old). Always a great experience. The renovation done when Marriott moved it to their Autograph Collection is stunning. The lobby is absolutely amazing, and the rooms are very nice as well. A few observations: For those who say the rooms are small or poorly laid out, remember it's 100 years old. What do you expect? They took what they had and made the most of it. The rooms are clean, good HVAC, water pressure, etc. The staff was extremely friendly, professional, and accommodating. Everyone seemed truly happy to be there, from the front desk personnel, bartenders, servers in Mowrey's, they absolutely delivered great service. Side note, breakfast at Mowrey's was very good. Large portions and not overly expensive. We stayed on points, so this was not really a factor for us, but this hotel is not cheap. Valet parking almost $60/night, rooms in the $400-$500/night range, drinks $20+...That being said, this hotel is, in my opinion, much better than the Ritz-Carlton next door and less expensive. Finally, their location on Public Square puts them in the middle of everything. Walking to a Cavs' game or event at Rocket Arena is through a mall and enclosed walkway, so no weather issues. Rock-n-Roll HOF, Progressive Field, Playhouse Square, Warehouse District, East Fourth Street, fantastic restaurants all walkable. Will always be my first choice when staying downtown.

The updates to the hotel during renovation is very nice. The bar and service in the bar area was wonderful with great selections. Self parking was less than ideal. No direct access from parking garage to hotel. Took awhile to get from second floor to outside, down the street to the front of hotel. Last, for a hotel that charges a lot $ per night, I was saddened when we didn’t have any coffee cups in our room and was promised some would be delivered but they were not before we checked out.
