Shady Lady Bed and Breakfast

Jennifer and her husband are very friendly and hospitable. It’s a cute little place to stay, and they’re pet friendly so I’ll have to bring mine next time. They have peacocks, dogs, a goat and a cat (that I saw there). As a young woman traveling solo, I felt very safe here. The bed was squeaky, but if you don’t toss and turn in your sleep, it won’t be a bother. The walls are also thin so you’ll hear anyone up and about if you’re a light sleeper, but I had earplugs and slept well through the night.

Liked that they offered a hot tub room. What I didn't like was it is listed that it's in Beatty, NV. It's actually located 35 minutes north of Beatty. Should have checked where it actually was located before I booked. My bad.

This is a unique locale, decorated with furnishings and pictures from a bygone era. The hostess was incredibly friendly and served me a delicious breakfast when I wanted it.

The place is great! I'm not into hotel chains and run of the mill standard motels. This place has character, great hosts, and is in the middle of nowhere. The stars are bright, the peacocks on property are beautiful, and the sunrises and sunsets spectacular. A little further from Death Valley than Beatty, but totally worth it to stay here.

We stayed two nights. Very friendly staff and interesting history of the property! Also good breakfast as well! It’s just too far up but it will be a lot better once Scotty’s Castle Road opens. I will look forward to visiting again!
