Villa São Tiago by Amazing Madeira

Beautiful views from the 1-bedroom apartment. The apartment was clean, its size is perfect for a couple, and it has an full kitchen.

A non-stick frying pan and a spatula would have been useful along with some spices. Same with shower-gel and shampoo. As there was a heatwave in Madeira during our stay, a cord extension cable for the fan would have been nice as well. But no major thing was missing.

Nice and clean apartment on the 1st floor. The view from balcony was interesting although we saw the ocean only partly. Location was good - close to the old town and restaurants. We walked to the centre of town 15 minutes.

The bed was uncomfortable so we didn´t sleep well. In the kitchen the dishes are in very high cupboards so I had to always use a chair to take something. Please read carefully all information they provided. We payed penalty 40,-EUR to Margarida for being 15 minutes late after check-in-hours. As other guests have already written - it is about attitude of the persons who work for the agency. We didn´t received any bill for this payment. Please be aware that this is self catering apartment so the towels are not changed but you can use a washin machine.

Excellent flat, close to town and a beach nearby. Lots of restaurants and shops not far away. The flat is spacious, has a beautiful balcony overlooking a private garden, lovely. There is a washing machine, a clothes horse for drying on the balcony and a dishwasher. We had breakfast in the flat and salad in the evening a few times.

The flat is 100m from a pub which plays loud music on Friday and Saturday till around midnight.

Generally property is nice and have good facilities within apartment with the nice area outside. Clean and spacious, although a bit damp if you leave closed doors and windows for the day.

The attitude of the host regarding the smallest issue possible to make guests welcomed. Information that is provided by property about the parking is totally MISSLEADING. Property announces that it might help with the reservation of PUBLIC parking for 5eur fee for the DAY. I would like to stress here that no information about any exceptions or restrictions is provided anywhere, nor on the booking.com, neither during the conversation on reservation. On arrival we were provided with the card for parking which really was public and everybody could access it. As I asked for the possibility of the late checkout the owner said that she will inform about it closer to the last day. On the day before the check out I asked how can I give the card back in the end of the day which I already paid for and then for our surprise it was said that the card should be returned on the checkout even though fee is for the entire day. After stating that in this case we do not use full day we paid for, I was basically attacked by the property owner with false accusations that this information was provided on arrival which was not. I experienced such rude behavior for the first time when using booking.com platform, to be honest. At the beginning the property owner stated that card is needed for cleaning; later it was said that arriving guests do not need the card, so I can have it, but there is 50eur fine for the lost card (again NEW INFORMATION, NOT EVER PROVIDED BEFORE). When I asked for the refund for day I wont be able to use the card, it was said that in such case I have to return it until midnight. So it means that you have to return card until midnight (it means using the full day), but to use it for the paid time on the last day somehow is not possible and only few hours are available even paid. As the result I had my last day of vacation ruined by this kind of attitude and also I was additionally charged for what I already paid. And its not about the money, but the attitude.

Great location very near old town. Great balcony overlooking the sea. Comfortable bed. very good shower.

we were unfortunate timing wise that building work next door was going on during our stay which prevented us using the side sun terrace. The owners did try to help in this matter. There was no local area to drop off household non recyclable rubbish. worth knowing that there is no pavement immediately outside property and so care was required in leaving the apartment because of street traffic.

We loved the apartment. The location is just perfect - a very short stroll to the restaurants and other attractions. The view out of the balcony is stunning - the ocean, the ships...

Bathroom interior could be updated (caulking along the bath is old and discolored), but it did dot affect our stay in any way. Everything was super clean, so this is not really a complaint.

Location was right in the old town and not too high to cilmb, and like 1 minute down to the seaside cafe on the cliff that serves breakfast/lunch and lovely restaurant for dinner on the cliff. Also rocky beach Barreira (ticketed) with sun loungers and ladder to the ocean and lifeguards is there and few steps down lively old town streets buzzing with restaurants and tour agencies etc, but cosy and friendly. Appartment itself has a wonderfull view to the old town, ocean and gardens. All needed cooking equipment, comfy beds, massive lounge and dining table. The free rocky beach is 5 mins away on foot too

street behind the flat was a little bit noisy with traffic during the rush hour (only short periods) and maybe some basic toiletries and yoga mat:) would be a bonus.

View was excellent.

Mattresses and bed linen un acceptable, no stopper for bath or washbasin in bathroom. fridge needs replacing. doors on kitchen units about to fall off. It was not value for money. Also stood in the rain for half an hour while waiting for the keys even though I had confirmed my time of arrival 2 days previously, also whatsapped as our flight was taking off (which landed on time)
