The Victoria Falls Hotel

This superb hotel feels like stepping back in time to the colonial era, but in the best possible way. Service is excellent and the rooms spacious and comfortable.There is a secluded swimming pool with comfortable loungers and 3 restaurants, but for , breakfast the only place to be is on the terrace, watching the sunrise over the Victoria Falls.

This is a special old hotel beautifully situated. We loved dining on the deck overlooking the falls and watching the mist that rose from the falls.

We did not want to leave

We have just returned from a four day stay at the Victoria Falls Hotel, our third visit in 19 years. We absolutely love this hotel and could not recommend it highly enough. The beautiful historic public rooms, swimming pool, courtyards and gardens have been perfectly preserved and the location of the hotel by the Victoria Falls, where you can see the spray from the Falls and the bridge joining Zimbabwe and Zambia from the dining terrace is quite stupendous. We stayed in the Stables Signature Wing where the room was beautiful, set in a separate historical building surrounding a beautiful courtyard set out with plants and small fountains. There is also a lovely private terrace with tables and chairs for Stables Wing guests to relax with complimentary tea/coffee and cake every afternoon and complimentary alcoholic drinks between 6 and 7 pm. Also an assortment of drinks is provided free for guests in the room's minibar which was much appreciated. We ate breakfast at the hotel every morning on the stunning terrace overlooking the gardens towards the gorge. There is a buffet breakfast with a fantastic array of food choices and an egg station where a variety of eggs and delicious omlettes can be requested. We also ate lunch on the terrace on one day, dinner on two occasions (one was a fantastic buffet dinner), afternoon tea (also complimentary) and various cocktails and drinks and all were excellent. We have to say also that the staff at the Victoria Falls Hotel are second to none, always charming, helpful and friendly. We are already planning a return visit!

Lovely historical building and location

Seriously overpriced, food was disappointing

A beautiful, historic and tranquil hotel in a superb location. The staff were always very friendly and polite. Afer we had checked in the staff noticed that my husband was having a problem with the stairs and gave us a call offering us a wonderful ground floor room in a much more convenient location. Due to the current middle eastern situation we were obliged to stay another day which was a bonus as far as we were concerned. Wlking distance from the falls.

The hotel is just as beautiful as we remember. Born in Zimbabwe, we made a return visit recently after many, many years. The staff was professional, friendly, and well-trained. We had a few drinks and explored the grounds. Everything was in tip-top condition! I would love to spend more time there, so maybe one day we will return. Such a gracious and historical property.

I can’t say enough about The Victoria Falls Hotel! Not only was it the most elegant and historic of our 24 day trip across Southern Africa, the staff went overboard to ensure our stay was comfortable with extraordinary service. Hat’s off to Edson and his team. I also must point out the wonderful dining experiences, especially at the Livingstone. Afternoon tea was a treat and the outdoor environment for breakfast was amazing.

This hotel is proud of its heritage and history - great if like such a vibe - we do! Room has old plumbing but. Everything works. Lots of staff who check everything is ok +++ Good is good if not cheap $50 per head. If you killed heritage hotels - stay here

The room was big, comfortable and very clean. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The historical features. A lovely setting.

It would have been nice to be able to.walk more in the grounds towards the river as in the past.
