The Victoria Falls Hotel

Having always wanted to stay at this iconic hotel I was not disappointed. The staff were amazing in every respect and nothing was too much trouble.The room we had was spotless and well maintained. Spacious with a good view over the gardens. The room entitled you to use the Bulawayo lounge which we felt had plenty of offerings and was a nice place to relax. Breakfast was excellent and our meal in the Stanley Restaurant was fine and not excessively expensive. The grounds were very well kept with a nice swimming pool. The pictures throughout the hotel of a previous era were fascinating. It is quite expensive but you certainly get what you pay for.

We loved our stay at the Victoria Falls Hotel. It has such a unique charm—like stepping back into old colonial England, but with all the comfort and warmth you’d hope for. The staff were very pleasant and genuinely helpful, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. High tea on the terrace was definitely a highlight—beautiful setting, delicious treats, and the great falls in the distance. It’s an experience that stays with you !

We came here for lunch. Welcome was rather stiff and reluctant but we were eventually allowed to eat despite not being residents of the hotel. The setting is spectacular, the view from the terrace is wonderful. The staff were all very attentive though very formal which can feel a bit uncomfortable. The food was disappointing unfortunately, quality lower than we had expected. Overall, it was great to visit for the experience but we were glad not to be staying there.

We didn’t stay at the Vic Falls Hotel, but came for a late afternoon drink & early supper & it was magical. From the amazing view east to the Vic Falls gorge & bridge with the sunset & later moonrise reflecting on the spray thrown up by the falls behind. The interior is lovely too & it’s worth dwelling over the very funny cartoons outside the gents loo poking fun at the British character. We had drinks, an excellent curry & salad plus wine for £80 with a wonderful view and great service from Chuchu the waiter, with whom we also had a good chat. When we arrived at 1700 we had the terrace almost to ourselves, but by the time we left at 1900 is was pretty full. Don’t be put off by the signs on entry that you need a booking or have to be a resident. That was not our experience, at least not in the “low” or “green season”.

We had a truly wonderful stay at this gorgeous hotel. From the moment we arrived, everything felt like a relaxing break. The staff were exceptional always friendly, smiling, and attentive. The rooms were spacious, spotless, and thoughtfully designed for comfort. What really stood out were the little touches that made the experience feel special: bottles of sweets and snacks at midday, refreshing lemonade and water, sun lotion by the pool, and fluffy towels ready whenever we needed them. The food was fabulous, with clear attention to detail in both quality and presentation. It was a real holiday experience in every sense perfect in every way. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

I stayed here as a solo traveler. This is a clean, well-maintained historic hotel with top notch staff. My room was spacious and had a great view of the distant bridge to Zambia. The grounds are lovely and the food was delicious. I especially loved tea and lunch on the terrace. The staff helped coordinate day trips and arrange for cabs as needed. A top hotel, at a top price, but worth the splurge.

The hotel is beautiful and spacious with views of the Falls. There is an education/management problem. In spite of adequate number of staff, there was inadequate supervision of deployment. For example, our server was notified that we had one hour before a 2:00 pm departure. Preparation was obviously timely but long delay in serving indicated by cold French fries and soggy toasted bread. I requested check and ice cream sandwich which would be done in “few minutes.” After 20 minutes—it never did arrive. When walking out, he did bring the bill, but not the ice cream. Another group notified the server of necessity of being done in 50 minutes for a departure for 2:00 pm helicopter flight over Falls. Food was “almost ready” after multiple enquiries, but it never arrived. Gym facilities limited.

너무 친절한 직원들이 인상깊습니다. 고풍스러운 인테리어에 아늑한 느낌이 들어서 편안한 휴식을 할 수 있었어요. 아이들과 커넥팅룸을 받아 편하게 이용할 수 있었던 것도 좋습니다. 식당은 정글정션과 스탠리 테라스를 이용했는데 모두 가격은 조금 있는 편이지만 서비스와 맛에 만족했습니다. 스탠리테라스 바깥쪽 정원에서 바라보는 빅토리아폴스의 뷰가 너무 멋있어서 다른 불편한 점은 잊게 만들어줍니다. 와이파이도 잘 터지고 하우스키핑도 훌륭합니다.

도중에 정전이 몇번 일어나는 일이 발생합니다. 식당에서도 깜깜한 와중에 음식을 떠야했어요. 수영장은 야외에 있다보니 나뭇잎이나 벌레등이 떠있는 것이 좀 아쉽습니다. 가격이 상당히 비싼 편이라 낡은 시설이 좀 아쉬웠습니다. 욕조 수전 중 하나가 빠져서 사용하지 못했습니다. 낡은 시설 정비가 필요합니다.
