Forest View Franz Josef

The bedrooms and bathroom were large and there was a TV in each of the three bedrooms. The unit was almost surrounded by native plants and trees.

Had to ring up and then wait for 15 minutes and ring back for someone to be able to give me the lock box code for the key. It was supposed to be sent to me three days before I arrived but was sent to me on the morning of the arrival day when I had no WIFI for my computer while we were traveling. Vehicle access is a bit narrow for turning around.

It was a beautiful private bush setting, very comfortable beds, good location. Excellent for wheelchair accessibility. Bedrooms were great with sliding doors onto deck, TVs in all bedrooms. Overall great stay.

Wierd sofa layout, not very comfortable to relax and lounge, unless yr in bedrooms. Limited communal space. Lacks a bit of art or personal touch, no lamps as all lights are very bright. Definitely on the higher price than all our other stays throughout South Island, and nowhere as lush.

Typical motel unit. Nothing special. Functional.

Location not that special. Didn’t reflect Franz Josef. Could have been anywhere.

Great location. Comfortable beds

Only one toilet and bathroom which abuts the small open plan kitchen and lounge. Okay for one couple but challenging for a family or 3 couples. Not great value for money.

A beautiful spot. I wish we stayed for longer!

The location being walking distance to the town center.

The forest wasn't much of a view, but hindered sitting outside. The apartment had only a 2 pit electrical cooking plate, 2 small sofa's and a dining table with only 4 chairs in a small living room. When you stay with a family of 6 this is not enough, and also not in proportion to 3 bed rooms that were fitted out to sleep 3 people each.

Good value, good location, clean and modern

Sleeps 9 but only 1 bathroom which is oversized for disabled persons, could easily be 2 bathrooms

Excellent beds and pillows. Electric blankets were a bonus. Lovely location tucked into the forest. 15 minute walk to Main Road with the cafes. Easy car park. Quiet. Good hot shower.

The living area is tiny with 2 squishy uncomfortable sofas... an L-shaped sofa would improve this. There's no TV in the living area (and the way it's configured, probably no where to put one. Though there are TVs in each of the 3 bedrooms. The kitchen, though small, is pretty well appointed. Needs some cereal bowls, and there was no salt and pepper. A generous variety of tea, coffee and hot chocolate were supplied The bathroom is huge. It needs a heated towel rack, or two, as our towels weren't drying and there were insufficient rails.
