Best hotel in La Jolla. We are hotel snobs with high expectations and we LOVED it. The rooms are immaculate, staff friendly, and service exceptional. It is in a perfect location close to all the shops/restaurants and extremely dog friendly with a park right behind the hotel. The whaling bar and hotel restaurants are also great. Excellent cocktails and food. They even have a dog menu and gave our dog treats. We will definitely be back.

We had the most wonderful experience celebrating my husband’s milestone birthday at La Valencia hotel. The ballroom with ocean views was gorgeous, the food was exceptional and the service was great. Bobby Fader, Director of catering, did an amazing job organizing our party. I would highly recommend having any event at La Valencia hotel.

I stopped by for a glass of wine and an appetizer and what a great surprize. The view, service and atmosphere exceeded expectations. I had a perfect glass of chilled Chardonnay while overlooking the ocean plus a Shrimp cocktail. Aaron was the server and he could not have made my day better other than bringing my wife, who I spent 56 years with, back to life. This was one of our favorite spots to enjoy the view, excellent service and kindness. Ask for Aaron and your day will be better.

This was my first visit to La Valencia Hotel in LaJolla, California. Parking was a breeze with valet parking right in front. The valet was already at my car door before I even turned my car off. Upon entering the lobby, I was greeted by three separate staff members/front desk personnel. I met a friend for lunch at the hotel and we ate in the La Sala's Ocean View Terrace; Amazing views, the pomegranate salmon salad was excellent and the pricing was very reasonable for a luxury hotel practically right on the beach. Since it was my first time there, I asked for and was treated to a tour of the hotel by the head of the engineering department. The hotel is really a work of art. The hotel sits very close to the water, pretty much every area had ocean views and the grounds are immaculately kept; likewise for the hotel. All staff that I met were professional, friendly and helpful. This will be one of my regular spots from now on.

My family and I spent 3 nights at the Hotel La Valencia last week. First, the positives. If you want to be in La Jolla Village, the location is amazing. The restaurant, Whaling Bar and the room service were all excellent, as were the hospitality staff and the bell staff. On our second night at 230AM, the fire alarm went off our floor. As we scrambled to grab our valuables and make sure we didn't smell fire, we made our way down to the lobby. The night manager and another desk staffer were there, but didn't seem to concerned about it. We asked to wait until the fire department checked and cleared us to return, but when they arrived, the junior staffer sent them away saying it was a false alarm, probably set off by someone smoking. Without much reassurance, we ended up going back to our room, getting a terrible night's sleep, and asked for the manager to call us the next day. I asked the front desk after breakfast the next morning what happened, and they had no idea??? I would think that overnight would report the incident to the morning manager but everyone seemed kind of clueless. Around 5pm the next day, someone from the front desk called the room and spoke to my wife, giving a very "AI, read from the book", response and mentioned some kind of accomodation, which we never received. I wasn't looking for that, just an apology and some empathy, along with a clear explanation of what should have happened. I read that they did a renovation but I didn't see it our room which seemed a bit dated and with the most uncomfortable sofa bed ever. The bathroom looked straight out of the 1980's. If you're going to LJ, not sure what to recommend. This hotel implies that it's a chic boutique hotel, and the location is amazing, but it's a 3star at best.

We had a wonderful dinner with Michael as our server. The food was delicious and the service was exceptional. We also had our dog with us, and the restaurant made it easy and were very welcoming. We are definitely coming back and want Michael as our server!

What a beautiful hotel… like stepping back to turn of the century luxury just entering the lobby! Love the historic feeling. I was welcomed with a glass of bubbles by the concierge, Mark, and the rest of the service stayed as warm, welcoming and helpful as he was. Even relaxing by the pool, the service was amazing. Wanted for nothing… attentive, friendly and still respectful of your space to just chill. Thank you, Mike! The whole staff was responsive, genuinely attentive and made our stay memorable. Rooms were clean, very comfortable and well-appointed. And, the food was fantastic! The tuna nachos are a must have…unusual and so delicious. We are in La Jolla every couple of months and will be back for sure.

I recently dined here, and it was an outstanding experience! The customer service was top-notch, with attentive staff ensuring we had everything we needed. The views are breathtaking, creating a perfect ambiance for our meal. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. La Valencia is truly a gem in La Jolla, and I can't wait to return!
