La Valencia Hotel

Thank you for sharing your special piece of paradise with us. La Valencia is a luxury property with soul. Each and every element of our stay was spectacular. The warm welcome started at the front door and continued with each and every encounter we had with the staff who exceeded our expectations, each and every time. The stunning grounds and prime La Jolla location, and scrumptious food made it a perfect place to plan, stay and celebrate the love that brought us there. If you are looking for the perfect place to start your life together or simply want to wrap yourself in luxury, run don’t walk to La Valencia. You will be happy that you did.

I cannot say enough about La Valencia, Bobby, or Dani. La Valencia, the pink lady, is known to be one of the best most gorgeous hotels in all of San Diego, and for good reason. Not only is the property stunning (and I have stayed at my fair share of 5 star hotels around the world), but the service is impeccable too. I hosted my wedding here this month, and every part from the site visit, to the menu tasting, to the room blocks, to the incredible service at the pool (Mike is the absolute best and took care of everything we needed!), was perfect from start to finish. My room was ready at 9AM the morning of my rehersal, well before my 4PM checkin, and all my bags were brought to my room immediately. I received nothing but compliments from 90+ guests, and it is a true testament to the hotel, to Bobby, Dani, Mike, and every other single staff member of this hotel. I went into two separate rooms and both were clean and well-maintained. Quiet hours in La Jolla and at the hotel start at 10PM, so late night noise is not an issue. The hotel is walking distance to a number of restaurants and bars, and lots of great shops. The food here is amazing as well-- a true full-service experience. We are already talking about having a yearly vacation here to celebrate our anniversary, and I cannot wait to go back.

Stopped in while in the neighborhood. There was a $16 rose on the menu, it was early afternoon, and I thought I'd have a couple of appetizers. Host informed me outdoor seating was for lunch tables, which made sense. Directed me to an indoor table, window with a beautiful view, but waited and nobody ever came by. Thanked folks as I left. I hope to visit again as I've been told this is a nice destination. But unfortunately cannot confirm after my visit.

I was so excited to experience the NEW Spa at La V, as a local here in La Jolla we have been waiting for this Beautiful spa to open, We enjoyed the beautiful outside lounge area perfect spot to recharge pre/post treatment. charming beach vibe, such a welcoming team all the way through my experience. I experienced one of the BEST massages I have ever had ( and I have had some:) Thank You to my massage Therapist ANWAR, he is truly talented & really listened to my concerns, I felt like a New person after my treatment! looking forward to going back soon! A disaster. So decrepid and out dated. Musty smell pervasive. smelled like dog urine (which they allow dogs)... the view for us was a dumpster and grafiti from our "garden view King"... the fire escape was completely rusted outside our window (room 810). No where to place our toiletries around the single sink so we had to put them on the toilet seat! NO chest of drawers to put clothing in. Had to use an open suitcase on the floor. It is obvious that the hotel rooms have not been updated or renovated in decades. The focus is being a wedding factory and its restaurants. The charges to stay there are outrageous. It is truck stop worthy at best. DO NOT STAY THERE. Spiders are welcome ( on the drapes) and the access to the shower required climbing over a 12" wide shelf which if someone was not athletic, was not easy. Coming out of the shower was DANGEROUS as one foot was wet in the tub and you easily could have slipped climbing out. The ADA would never allow that room to be rented. The carpet had not been replaced or cleaned or both in decades.

Views and location were amazing. The TV was small for the room and placed far away which made it hard to view. The guest rooms could use an update and better configuration. Pool was fabulous.

I grew up coming to this beautiful property and I love that I can bring my family to share similar experiences. Every aspect is first class and we always leave reluctantly, but with plans to look at a calendar for our next trip. Very few places have maintained the brand integrity for decades like "La V."

La Valencia is in a fantastic location right by La Jolla Cove — the views and walkability are hard to top. The service was good, though not quite at a luxury level. The building itself has character and old-world charm, but it isn’t quite as polished as the photos make it appear. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, but next time I’d probably explore other options in the area.

The location is perfect! The valet staff and Mark, the concierge are all welcoming from the moment you walk in. The ocean view room is beautiful and breath taking. Lastly, you will sleep well on the comfortable bed with the room darkening shades closed.

I was looking forward to staying at the historical hotel however I was gravely disappointed. I attempted to checkin at 2:30 but was forced to wait one minute prior to checkin time 4pm. The room I was given is on the top floor and directly below the generator. I couldn't sleep at all. Room wasn't very clean. I cleaned the toilet and my robe had a used stench. Upon checkout, I discovered damages to my rim after valeting.
