Hyatt Place Detroit/Auburn Hills

The stay was nice. The hotel is showing signs of wear snd tear. The hallway on the fourth floor had spots on the carpet and the main hallway to the pool area had a drip from the ceiling/roof. The room was clean and nicely appointed but spots on the couch and carpet was a turn off. The pool could use some help as the deck is severely peeling. Had to ask for towels twice. It’s hard though as guests abuse the towels taking more than they need. Breakfast was good. Staff were friendly but not sure they really wanted to be at work.

Mucho ruido de jóvenes gritando y desordenado hasta la media noche. El personal del hotel me enganchaba el teléfono cada vez q llamaba para notificarlo. La excusa fue tienen un papel q dice q no hagan ruidos después de las 9:00 pm.

I had a generally pleasant stay. The room was clean and comfortable, service was good, and the breakfast offered good variety and quality. However, the property is showing its age and could benefit from updates. I noticed ceiling leaks in the main floor common areas, and a recurring leak in the exercise room that has been ongoing since at least July 2025. Water was still dripping during this visit, with power cables nearby, which seems like a safety concern that should be addressed. With some maintenance and upgrades, this hotel could offer a much improved guest experience.

Before booking at this property, i read the reviews which were mostly unfavorable. I reluctantly booked this room because my prior reservation at a separate hyatt property was cancelled due to a broken water main. Needless to say, I needed a place to stay for a convention. I was attending in pontiac. While it is true that this is not a pristine property by any means, the manager is responding to guest comments and appears to be attempting to improve the property. My experience was a quiet, comfortable stay in a slightly dated property, which I see with a lot of the Hyatt place properties. For the price, i found it to be a good value. The breakfast was quite good. The room was clean, and in need of upgrade, but everything was adequate. This is one of those properties that when you stay there, you need to squint your eyes a little, but I believe it is improving thanks to the diligence of the general manager. I would recommend staying here.
