Hyatt Place Detroit/Auburn Hills

My husband dropped me off at a work event in the morning. Upon returning, mind you he had to use the key card to enter the side door, a worker rudely accused my husband of not having a room there. My husband and 4 children were eating their breakfast while being side eyed and judged. The room was also in need of TLC with warping wallpaper and broken mirror (near the floor so children can easily cut themselves if curious). Otherwise the room was clean and looked nice at first glance.

I checked in at 11:00PM and they asked for a $50 security deposit in case of any room damages. Of course my first room had mouse droppings on the floor and a hole in the wall, so instantly I went downstairs and reported it because no way am I getting charged for this. After an apologetic receptionist I got a second room further down the hall. Then my second room the AC did not work, OK it was not too hot nor too cold so I will just go to bed I am exhausted from my flight. Once it finally kicked in at 4:30 AM it was whistling so loud it sounded like a train slamming on its squeaky brakes, and woke me up in a panic. That morning I mentioned it to the front staff who then said that maintenance would be on site at 9:00 AM and they are welcome to fix it. I came back at 5:30 PM later that day to no resolve and still a broken and whistling AC. I ask for my 3rd room change at this point. Finally, I get a room that is decent (Still missing a inside curtain for the shower, a broken bathroom fan and random stains everywhere).

Not a great experience. I have stayed before without issue but this time was alot different. Broken AC that was not fixed after reporting

The staff were very friendly and It was close to Oakland University.

Fairly dirty, not much room for seating with the volume of people, not so friendly staff.

Nothing.

The room had stains, the carpet was not vacuumed. The staff was rude and not attentive. I would not stay there again.
