Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria

Stunning place. I guess is the best hotel in town and one of the best of the Amalfi Coast. Service is top notch even if sometimes a bit robotic. Nevertheless, they were very helpful. Anyway, as a European, I don’t know what to say…Everything was more than ok, but I guess it’s a kind of luxury experience that will be much more appreciated by American people. Americans are the target of the place and it’s ok, but if you are more in a key of understated luxury it’s better to pass your way and even choose another location. Don’t try Terrazza Vittoria at sunset because the number of “instagrammers” is annoying. Even at breakfast I saw customers filming for instagram, it’s funny. By the way, dinner by the pool it’s an absolute waste of money: food was tasteless. Overall a good experience.

One of Italy's most beautiful and luxurious hotels. A true five star luxury experience; the Excelsior Vittoria is timeless. It evokes feelings of a bygone era punctuated by exceptional staff, beautiful grounds and one of the best pools in Italy. The breakfast buffet is amazing with endless food items and the joy of a piano player. Corrado is one of the world's best concierge, no task, too big, too small or impossible.

This remains one of the best 5 star hotels we have stayed in. While the rooms and amenities are very good I believe it’s the staff that really makes it special. They remembered us from last year, are attentive without being annoying basically they are a perfect team from cleaner to the top. Last year we had an upgrade of a room that was hard to beat, this year our upgrade was not the same but it was a nice room with a bit of a sea view. We did have quite a few internet problems but with the help of two browser logins (swapping between the two) it eventually worked. Would we stay again ~ absolutely yes.

I recall looking at this hotel in 1995 as I was out exploring Sorrento as a budget traveler. I decided to visit Sorrento in 2023, booked Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria. I brought my niece and nephew for a short 2 night stay. Everything from cocktails on the terrace at sunset, to the relaxing poolside w snacks from L'Orangerie. And the nightcaps at Le Pergola Bar. I just love this hotel. I've been back 3 summers in a row bringing different friends and family to experience the hotel. I have also seen returning guests and familiar team members each year. Corrado (Concierge) is the best!! He has scheduled my private boat tours and they are truly some of my favorite days in life. I look forward to my visit next summer!

We made the mistake of choosing a different hotel in Sorrento on recommendation of a friend, unfortunately, it didn't live up to our expectations. After five nights, we decided to return to the Excelsior Vittoria for the last three nights, and we don't regret it. We always receive an incredibly friendly and hospitable welcome from General Manager Tiziana, as well as the front desk and concierge staff. We were given a beautiful suite that had everything we needed: a spacious bathroom, bedroom, and separate living room. And yes, four balconies, two of which are seafront. Breakfast is, as always, overwhelmingly good, and dinner at L’ Orangerie is also a wonderful experience. The pool is wonderfully quiet and the staff is excellent. We won't stay at any other hotel anymore when we're in Sorrento, next time we choose Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria again, the service and quality are consistent and that’s what we like, no surprises.

One of the most beautiful and magical hotels in the world. We had a terrace over looking the sea and the views were breathtaking. The food was delicious and staff went out of their way to be helpful and were incredibly friendly. We did not want to leave and we will definitely be returning. An incredible hotel and experience.
